I got my first shot because in my Calif. area if someone is disabled or have certain health conditions they are eligible even if they are younger; I was so happy.

I'll have you know, sirrah, that way back in 1971, I was sporting a bowl cut, too. My old dad had switched from shearing us like sheep in the family barber stool to actually putting a bowl on our heads and just clipping whatever was sticking out. Luckily, this was a doomed, last-ditch effort. He could not stem the tide of all that hair (see the Cowsills' song). By '73, we were all little hippies, even in my Catholic school. Okay, the nuns did still chase us around with scissors (true story), but we were faster...

Re: the $6000 license plate, when I lived in Shanghai (a city of 23 million), you had to buy a car tag at 'auctions'--they'd only create so many each month to limit traffic congestion, and the going rate (5 years ago) was between $63,000 and $80,000, just for the tag. (Which is why so many people there use electric scooters instead.) But only the wealthiest can get them, so the city had more Rolls Royces, Maseratis, and Lamborghinis than any place I've ever been--there were NO hoopties.
