I just think of my favorite drink "First-time Porn-star" = Cheery Whiskey + Raspberry Sour Puss + 7-up or Sprite... Tasts like a fruity pop, gets you drunk quickly, and the bartender could get away with only serving the Sour Puss + Pop after the first three if they wanted to... Also I already had a few...

Last night: "Can I have the same again, but a bit stronger?" 'You want another shot in it?' "No, just make it stronger." Cheeky fu(kers. Used less mix ingredients, more ice, so the drink was stronger with the first sip, and then the ice melt diluted it :-)

I once overheard a guy order a grey goose martini, no vermouth, no garnish, extra cold...so basically just chilled vodka in a martini glass. After the bartender made the drink in front of him, he takes a few sips and gets his attention to complain that it "just doesn't have the 'bite' of vodka"...

@JR-yn2kl 6 жыл бұрын
Connor Reid Probably because your terminology was off. Neat means to serve unchilled and unmixed. A Manhattan is made with whiskey, sweet (or 1/2 sweet/dry vermouth for a Manhattan perfect) vermouth, angostura bitters and stirred with ice, until properly chilled and diluted and then strained into a chilled stem cocktail glass and garnished with a cherry in side unless they requested it over. So even without the vermouth it wouldn't be a whiskey neat and it would be served up.

I'm sure she said this because he personal taste in beer is not corona. A lot of people consider it not a very good beer. Like coors banquet, some people like it, some people can only taste the syrupiness of corporately brewed beer.

Isaías Sosa The alcohol content in Corona is pretty low and because of that, in Mexico, it is mostly consumed by women (and to be more specific older women). So in the Mexican culture to see guy drinking Corona is kinda telling that you are feminine or gay. Yeah, I learned when I mexican girl I was with called me out on that. But if you ask me just go for it. Same goes for the other "girly" drinks like cosmopolitans and margaritas. They are delicious.

One of my favorite stories to tell is when I went to see The Fray at this private concert thing in Atlantic City and there was a bar. I was only like, sixteen and I had never ordered anything for myself at a bar before. I got a Shirley Temple, it was like, 2 bucks, and I had no idea how to tip bartenders. I wound up putting down 3 bucks as a tip. I started to walk away and I heard the bartender go, "Hey, thanks a lot!" I was so worried that I hadn't tipped a lot and he was being sarcastic. Later when I told my parents, they looked at me like I was crazy. Welp, at least I made the bartender happy. :P

I work on the bar at a bowling alley, and I get these all the time... 1. People don't know which beer they want, and then want me to describe the difference between Carling, Stella and Batemans. 2. No, I will not top your beer up when you've left it on the bar for 5 minutes before drinking it. That's not my problem. 3. 'Can you make me a cocktail?' No, I can't. If we made cocktails, there would be a cocktail menu. 4. The Coke glasses we have are designed for ice, so when you pour it with no ice, it comes out not looking full. Don't complain at me, I don't make the machines, I just pour the drinks. 5. The sign says that we do either a large or small glass of wine. So no, I can't pour you a medium, even after you've asked twice, and I've said no twice. 6. No, I won't serve your daughter alcohol when she doesn't have her I.D. Mother's word that she's 18 wont stop me from being fined and fired. 7. The sign says I can't serve you if you're under 18. I know you only want coke, but you can go to the diner and order there, and then it will be bought over to you. Anyone else experience any of these?

I once had to wait extremly long at the bar because I was constantly overlooked. When I finally got my drink after 25 minutes the bartender dropped a bottle of orange juice and it spilled everywhere including my eyes. It burned strong and very uncomfortable and I had to fight tears really hard. The bartender overlooked me again, didn't notice me at all and therefore didn't bother to apologize. I didn't tip them and they looked at me like I was the unfriendliest customer ever.
@GabrielaVMontes
@GabrielaVMontes 9 жыл бұрын
They probably didn't see that it got into your eyes. Depending on how busy it was, sometimes it's hard to notice things like that since they have to focus on a bunch of things at once. From their perspective, you were just a lousy tipper

LichtdesMorgens I had a similar thing happen to me at Blue Martini here in Orlando. They completely ignore me for 15 to 20mins, but unlike you I did tip, which I think I will stop doing if the service is bad or the drink is weak. They should of paid attention what they were doing no matter how busy they are.
@jamesrosario8857
@jamesrosario8857 9 жыл бұрын
LichtdesMorgens As a Bartender myself at a very busy bar I will say that its sometimes hard to keep track of who has been waiting the longest, however no matter what no one waits 25 mins EVER. These could be issues with under staffing (Management) or simply a bartender that is not used to high volume or screwed around while slow and didn't efficiently set up his/her bar. Many Bartenders would laugh or straight up disagree with me on my next comment: My number one responsibility behind the bar is the enjoyment of the guest. That might be personal but its the reason im happy to show up to work everyday. So if i spilled something and had even an inkling of a suspicion that i spilled some liquid on a guest i would drop what i am doing and address it. Quickly and efficiently. If some stranger spilled something on you it would be rude, right? What about a stranger that you are giving your hard earn money to? As far as tipping, I would say in situations like this if you have a kind heart you should tip the bartender but only if you are willing to tell them sincerely and kindly the reason they ruined your experience. That's, unfortunately, the only way they would learn. In a Bartender's mind a customer who is complaining but also tipping well doesn't compute so they get out of machine mode, reboot, and their logical mind kicks in and hopefully they also kick themselves for messing up at their job. Anyways those are my two cents.

I work in a pub, which serve both food and beer. The worst ever is when someone comes up to the bar, looks at the beer menu on the wall and asks "what do you recommend?" And I hold lectures about how different beers go with what they're eating in different ways bla bla bla, and then they'll just look to out cheapest tap, point and say "Nah, I'll just have that one."

One of my most annoying stories was when a guy asked for a Bicardi and coke and we were out of Bicardi. Me: “I’m sorry, but we’re out of Bicardi.” Him: “No Bicardi?” Me: “No Bicardi.” Him: “...What do you have that’s similar?” Me: “We have rum. Dark, spiced and white.” Him: “Oh... I just want a Bicardi and coke.” Me: “We don’t have any left.” Him: “No Bicardi?” Me: Getting annoyed “No Bicardi.” So he brings his wife over and asks her what she wants. Wife: “I’ll just have a Bicardi and coke.” Me: “I’m sorry, but we’re all out of Bicardi.” Wife: “No Bicardi?” Me: Wanting to repeatedly snack my head on the bar until I get a concussion. “No Bicardi.” Wife: “What rum do you have?” Me: “We have dark, spiced and white.” Wife: “What do you have?” Me: “Dark, spiced and white.” Wife: “I just want a rum and coke.” FOR THE LOVE OF-

You're here every week and you haven't seen me pour a single alcoholic drink in the four months I've been here. Go away. "But, I saw you get a drink for that person there." Yeah some times you work at bars that don't require you to know how to make certain drinks. Mojitos aren't really that popular, so its not entirely out of question they hadn't made one before. And before people start with "you're a bartender you should know how to make x, y, and z." Do you know how many freaking drinks there are? Plus each bar has their own specialties and variations of drinks. That's why I'm always 100% honest with my customers. If I don't know how to make or haven't made one before, ill tell them. Zero shame in honesty of my own ignorance.

One time I had a guy come in ordering a diluted bourbon. I asked him if he wanted a lime (we get a lot of guests asking for limes even for drinks served neat), so out of courtesy and because my job is about hospitality and pleasing the guests, I ask. He then starts to give me a lecture on how I'm doing my job wrong and how bourbon should only be drank neat or up and by itself and I should never ask that question again.

Best thing about Britain: when you order a beer without specifying a brand they will just pour you the cheapest one. It also makes the most sense in business. People will come back to the bar with friends who will buy more expensive drinks because the beer drinker believes this is a cheap bar/pub. The cheapest beer still makes a profit for the business and the customer comes away far more satisfied and likely to drink more/return more.

Having worked in bars now for well on 5 years I can say it's sad to say that all these "stereotypes" in this video exist In the world. It's also quite possible that people who have never been in this situation don't understand that it's more than acceptable to not like these people! Just as a note I'm UK based so they whole tipping your servers is lost on me! A bartender is not required to : Know how to make every known drink/cocktail Know what drink you want when you say "surprise me" or "anything I don't mind" Be happy with how long it takes you and your entourage to order your round especially when your random ass late friend wants a Guinness of all things and knew it needed to sit and still waited until last to voice his order! We shouldn't be expected to be happy or smile with our job given how many stupid people walk into a bar (that's just stupid people and not generalising as everyone! Not everyone is a stupid customer!) The fact that most people who pay for one drink by card don't realise that it's not even worth the effort and you should just find the cash! TABS NEED PAYING!!! And I'm not your best friend, baby sitter, dad, cleaner, mind reader or anything else you can think of! You are not getting free drinks or extra because you bought a big round, you are not getting your drink exchanged for free because you don't like it ! You asked for a double, I poured you a double I gain nothing for trying to cheat you! Also guys just because you are with the guys doesn't mean I want to treated like one of the guys and ladies your "flirting" with me will neither get you a drink or anything else for free! No you can't come behind the bar! No we don't have that drink that's "everywhere" that's just how it goes! You look 12, no ID no drink! When I do serve you don't point to the guy next to you and say "this guys next right?" No, no he isn't! And so so much more only bartenders and restaurant staff will understand but you have us all misunderstood you see I really like my job! You see for everyone 100 nobodies that burst into my bad I will always meet 1 somebody that makes my job worthwhile ! So folks whilst this video has been made just for the funnies, and the people in the comments that believe your bartenders to be unhappy with their jobs, next time why not try just standing at the bar waiting your turn and realise In those moments whilst you wait that infront of you is someone working their ass off whilst you wait for your drink and that when they get to you that you will have their undivided attention and they will focus on making only you happy and satisfied for as long as they are making your drink and taking your order! Be considerate folks bartenders are doing their job while you aren't!

Some of my personal favourites. I'm a bartender from the UK *" can I have a wine please" doesn't say which wine they want or if they want small,medium,large or bottle * Orders a massive round for all of their mates and is shocked at how much it all comes to. "It can't be right" *wants a strong spirit but doesn't want a double *"you should smile" *When the room loud a large amount of people and live music playing but the customer talks super quiet and turns all different directions so I can't even try to figure out what they are ordering *complaining about having no ice or lemon/lime in drink. I can't magic them from thin air if we have just ran out *when you take a massive order and they give you their membership discount card after you have put it all though * Guys thinking that your head is located in your chest area. *When you have to ID someone because of the 25 challenge law and they take it out on you because apparently I'm a t**t for wanting to keep my job and not get into trouble by the law. I do really like my job, these are just some pet peeves. Most of the time I enjoy working behind the bar, its these situations which make my job slightly awkward at time. I mainly joke about these things because I have learnt to become thick skinned because people are under the influence.
