Various tests to see what Soft Body physics is like in Scrap Mechanic!
Got any suggestions for another soft body test? 🤔

maybe a looser mesh on the net might improve lag and flexibility. separating the + with - ones on each side. so the net holes are larger and there's less bearings overall, and each piece would be trying to flex in less directions it might work more like a loose net and less like a stiff sheet.

Fun fact: I have gotten outside the map borders once, but I didn't get stuck in the blue void forever, instead i found out that the walls are very very thick.

for the morbius strip, just make a ring out of flex blocks, except one row, and then put one bearing there, and put a controller connected to it and turn it 180 degrees

So about the bouncy bubble blocks: Every "piece" of a creation, seperated by either moving parts or a change of material, is calculated by itself. That's why A: when building very long rows/planes you have to occasionally change materials, else it will get very very buggy. and B: When building boats you are advised to seperate your bubble block with other blocks. Bubble block on itself is EXTREMELY bouyant, so if there's just a single block of it in water, it bounces as it's acceleration is very very very high. Since every block on the sheet is seperated by bearings, that effect applies there too. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk!

When I played around with the ultra light blocks, they are somewhat buoyant, but contribute so little mass that they act like balloons when in water

Möbius strip: have a square of the pieces, and then have a bearing rotate it around so it’s a Möbius strip.

Can it make a bulletproof west if you have multiple layers?(Like not spuds, but big pipes, i have a cannon that can shoot those if you need one)
