If your Vespa GTS 300 wobbles you must have a big issue with it. Which I find strange, because I am on my 3rd GTS. My home is here in Liverpool England and so far, me and Vespa have circumnavigated the Island of Ireland [in 2 stages], ridden to the the Esha Ness Lighthouse on Shetland [incidentally in terrible weather on the back end of Hurricane Gonzales]. We have been to Norway's Polarserkelsenteret on their Arctic Circle. Last year ticked off The Outer Hebrides on my bucket list and 2 weeks ago came back from 2160 kms ride which took in France Germany and Europort Holland in less than 5 days. All these rides were done in a week and I'm 78 years old. I'm only on a Vespa because Arthritis forced me off my Ducati ST3 and I have never ever regretted it. These machines are brilliant. Take it from me, buy one, you will never regret it.

Good point about locking through the rear wheel. Try altering your tyre pressures slightly it does make a huge difference. I feel this last comment is so important. Why ,why, why do you ride a scooter without gloves? Your hands are the first things to hit the road and it hurts but I suppose you have never had that experience!!!

I was able to reduce the wobble by adding heavier bar ends to my 2007 GTS250. However my sensory nervous system may have been affected by 200,000 miles on the 1986 Harley!

Another point I have just thought about and that is the Vespa loading as sometimes if you adjust the suspension this can alter the handling. How about adjusting the rear dampers, something that is often overlooked. When I bought my Vespa the suspension had never been adjusted as it could not be adjusted with the C spanner. I bought a replacement pair of dampers and so could adjust according to weight this made a lot of difference to the handling. Good luck.

Agree the ASR sounds like a real pain, it stops you accelerating FAST which is what you want. Also mine is really rusting underneath, very poor build quality. But it rides lovely.

Hello, been riding Moto-Guzzis and Vespa Piaggios for 45 years and yes, my two Vespa GTS 300/2016 and 2017 wobbles. They wobble hard and that’s just the way they are. You could hang in kilos of bar-ends, it will just self-oscillate in another speed-range. At very very panic level front braking it snakes itself and will scare your pants off if not used to it. The cause of course one legged ”not intended for sport” front fork and over-all soft frame. I always drive my vespa as hard as possible and it get’s good and scary all the time, It’s just not made for sport riding. The wobble and the snaking are two different ways the weak frame and fork will show up. You could find tons of suggested solutions of the problem and I will certainly test 130 front tire below! Because of the weakness the GTS also is very sensitive about weight distribution. To much weight behind the rear axle and high up makes the frame wobbles at low speeds (at high speed it will self-correct) very very dangerously! I will love all of my vespas to the bitter end, from my 1953 Vespe Elite to the GTS. But if driving the shit out of them, they will scare the pants off you!

I have had lots of motorcycles and I could build a list for any and all of them none of them are perfect. The front end wobble should have been fixed years ago. It could be a safety issue Vespa fix it today! I am having as much fun on my Vespa as any bike I have owned. Nice looking Vespa DutchWesp!

Put a bigger 130 tyre on the front and malossi suspension on the front. Problem gone, just with tyre change but suspension is a plus upgrade too.

The wobble is all down to the tyres. When you take your hands off the handle bars the whole thing wobbles. My Vespa has been great, however I have just fitted the third set of tyres now from new. It never happened before but now I have a wobble. Only notice it when you remove your hands from the grips. Try it yourself and see. Love the new tyres they suit my style of riding. But the wobble.

My 2007 150 Fly which I brought last May, 2018, had 1700 miles on the odometer. I rode the scooter from May until November, when it got too cold here in Hampton, Virginia and put it inside a storage shed with 7800 miles on the odometer. No problems except, top speed is only around 65-almost 70 wide open. Feels like you're not hurting the machine around 55 thru 60 mph. Of course i would love to have more top speed, but I avoid the Interstate and go about anywhere I think of. From what I hear, the 300 is not that much faster, only 80 mph, that's not fast enough for the interstate either, when you consider trying to pass. As long as you stay in the right hand lane it's plenty fast enough. I have rode R90s BMW's all across the USA and as far as Panama, but at 71, I will settle, for now on my Dodge Grand Caravan and this little 150cc Fly. Those 500cc Twin Front Wheels look interesting.....

In 2009 I bought two Honda Metropolitans and a 250 gts Vespa. The Metros are great but not quite enough power for some roads. 49cc. The Vespa is perfect for every road except the interstates. There are things that I really like about the Honda's that I wish the Vespa had. The Metros would be great if the engines were bigger. I love the looks of all of them. That classic style. The Metros are as reliable as you can get. Just what you expect from a Honda. Honda has since detuned the Metros. Mine will top out at about 42 m.p.h. The new ones about 35 m.p.h. The Vespa does everything I want it to do plus it looks really cool too. It's just a different animal than the Honda's. Plus, with the Vespa I can have my girlfriend ride on the back. Can't do that with the Metros.

I have put nearly 40K miles on my 2006 GT200, have the Vespa top box, which I keep full most of the time, no bar end weights, and never had any kind of wobble. No matter what I do to try and make it wobble, it just won't do it. Yes, ABS and ASR SUCKS!!! You don't ride the scooter, it rides you. But there should be a fuse you can pull out to get rid of that nanny crap. What kind of lock are you trying to use? Forget the lock. ANY lock can be easily defeated. Get a cover instead. Out of sight out of mind.

Oh come on my friend ,you forget to said the most most important hate thing, on this vespa (gts).And this ,there is no other ,from cooling system.Specifically cooler fan of cooling system. It is very very noisy, the sound it is exactly the same with vaccum cleaner. Ιn the summer ,the ride is terrible.(in close and small roads) For me is the biggest fatal error ,on this motorcycle.
