This is one of the worst things to admit about my Disney World vacations. Usually the worst things that happen…are my own fault! Let’s make sure that NOT gonna be the case for you by exposing our own regrets.

My mom and I went to Disney World the year after my father died (1998). She was 70 and we had a FANTASTIC time! Just be prepared to travel at their pace and not yours. Patience will get you rewards. She passed away in 2004 and I have those great memories.

I bawled after I got to spend some one on one time with Ariel in Disneyland at Ariel’s Grotto. My husband begged me at the table to stop crying, because everyone would think he was dumping me or doing something hurtful to me. The man at the table next to us with just a woman assured me he cried the first time he met Ariel too. He was wearing an Ariel shirt. That helped me calm down & my husband & I both felt better. Me for not being the only one crying at meeting Ariel & my husband that I stopped crying & the people around us wouldn’t be concerned.

Yes! I had the privilege of bringing my mom, aged 72, for her first trip at the beginning of February. She had an ECV and had the best time just riding around and experiencing her surroundings. She loved Rise, and Kilimanjaro, enjoyed Slinky and Mickey & Minnie, but her favorite was the old school magic of Peter Pan. We even had a Capture Your Moment shoot. Overall, it was better trip than either of us could have hoped for, and I am so grateful for the chance to have done it.

We typically reach out to families in town with college age kids. Typically we can find someone that can come live in the house and take care of the doggo. The kids like having a "place of their own", making some $$, and the pooch gets pampered. The one time we could not, we found a co-worker who enjoyed a much shorter commute due to the better location.

I did mission space green on my last trip. I was severely disappointed that they changed it and you have to do Orange to get the mars mission now as opposed to before when you could do it on both. The Earth mission is so underwhelming in comparison. I probably won’t do it anymore.
@bloodbought6809
@bloodbought6809 4 ай бұрын
@@Boundwithflame23 gotcha… I suspect what got me wasn’t the severity of orange vs green but the claustrophobic nature of being strapped in SO tightly, having the entire wall just a few inches from my face.. the door closed and so dark… I felt trapped… I started to freak out before the ride even started… I survived… it was rough though… it took me out for rides for a few hours. I was shook up… had to sit on a bench a while… drink a coke… was sick to my stomach.

Yes! We're taking my Dad for his first time ever (he'll be 67 by the time we go). He's having spinal surgery at some point this year and we will be making full use of an ECV. After our trip last year and realizing after two foot surgeries, I just couldn't handle walking one more day... we rented an ECV and I used that most of the time and when I wanted to walk, my boyfriend would just hop on. It was a life saver and it made me realize how amazing they are with handicap people and that my Dad could totally do it!

I’ve had rheumatoid arthritis since I was 16. It got misdiagnosed as growing pains by a bad rheumatologist, despite my dad & I insisting it was rheumatoid arthritis. A couples years after I twisted my right ankle. It went untreated for some more years. I worked in retail on my feet most of the day for years. Now both ankles are damaged & always inflamed. Eventually I went back to the bad doctor while I was working retail & in college. He said I OBVIOUSLY had arthritis, because my joints were so swollen. But the damage done couldn’t be undone. Years later at the end of the day I couldn’t even walk to bed. I crawled. Our first trip to Disney World I was in so much pain most of the day, suffering, it was painful showering or bathing at night after being on my feet all day & I couldn’t sleep at first, I was in so much pain. Our 2nd trip my husband surprised me our first park day saying he was going to rent me a wheelchair every day we were in the parks. IT CHANGED MY LIFE! That year at 32 when my husband & I came back from our trip, I told my parents I wanted a wheelchair for Christmas. It has been SOOOOOOO AMAZING! I need it now more than I did then, due to deterioration. I love my wheelchair.

When I go to Disney I try to keep my meal times the same. If I can’t then I make it as close as possible, since I’m hungrier on vacation because I’m doing way more. A definite don’t is not drinking. You will get extremely dehydrated and a massive headache. You could even get heat exhaustion and pass out, trust me I’ve seen it happen. And when I said drink I mean drink way more liquid than usual. You and your body will be thankful that you did. B6 the way Yacht and Beach club are connected so that won’t be that big of and deal and may actually be faster.

Ditching the schedule is so true. We were eating cheeseburger eggrolls at 9am last week. Time is bizarre at wdw. We also skip 95% of all night shows other than what we can see from our balcony. It's simply never worth destroying the kids (or ours) next morning and day to see some fireworks. If we stay yacht club or contemporary we will watch those fireworks one night but that's it. At wdw most nights we are asleep by 930/10pm and up at 645

My husband’s nana came with us and used the electric scooter because she had a bad hip. We found ourselves very frustrated because people were constantly cutting her off and she’d have to slow or stop or she would’ve hit them. And once she accidentally drove off a curb and the whole thing fell over. So while she still had a great time, those are things to consider when bringing an older person, because unfortunately, other guests will not be aware and considerate of them. Everyone has a one-track mind and are focused on their own thing. I’m not bad mouthing, just pointing out the facts. And the thick crowds make the walkways difficult to navigate and realize there’s uneven ground, etc.

When I went to EPCOT on President's Day, the line for Spaceship Earth was busy - in the late afternoon. I NEVER bother with Starbucks, though Joffrey's can get crowded, too. They also did VQ today for the ESPN merchandise for the Disney Princess Half-Marathon. Nearly threw my whole day off when I got in around 10AM, and had to wait until 2PM. Ever since I moved here, I've never missed the exclusive snacks - the trouble is keeping up as I only buy 1 or 2 a week to review. 🙁 Usually, I'm fine with internal bus loops, but I wish Coronado would name them instead of 2, 1, 3, 4.

We learned that day to be sure to rinse them out as soon as we could after she'd finished one... it isn't a deep clean like using the bottle and straw brushes back in the room at night, but it'll prevent that wrenching sound you make when you pour out the curds :)

It's medically impossible to "boost your immune system." Emergen C (and other supplements) do nothing. Just be healthy overall. On a vacation, get plenty of sleep, make sure to eat more than just junk, drink lots of water and, yeah, bringing sanitizer is definitely a good idea.

Love this video but just wanna tell everyone that you can Google that taking vitamin c before a flight or trip has never been proven to prevent catching an illness.

Vitamin C supplements don’t benefit a normally healthy person, but fresh fruit has phytochemicals that replenish your body’s antioxidants. Antioxidants are used by your immune system to ‘attack’ bacteria and viruses.

I LOVE Starbucks and can tolerate Joffreys, but I absolutely WILL NEVER wait in a long line for Sbux in Disney again! Get Starbucks on your way in to the park!

I won't lie, should I ever have the chance to see some of my fave Disney chars, you KNOW I'm gonna be the mentally 5-year-old I self-proclaim to be! Though should I see Dr. Facilier, people may have to hide THEIR kids! :P (okay, maybe not, but I'd be there taking up ALL the time! xD) I was in the same boat with my mom; She wanted to see the Harry Potter park at Universal. However, she never got to before she passed, but I promised her my dad and I would go to it for her. I'm sure she saw everything when we went. I even bought a Hogwarts Express Xmas ornament because she normally bought something like that, or a magnet for a souvenier. I also bought myself a Slytherin shirt, of course.

I’ve been thinking about going there, but something keeps telling me not to. And Regal Eagle is good, so I’ll stick with that for my Disney bbq fix. If they add characters at Roundup Rodeo, then I may try it. 😅

As the years keep passing without a return visit to WDW, it’s becoming apparent that maybe the thing I’ll never do again in Disney World is simply going there. Too expensive, crowded, endless lines, my “kiddos” are adults with lives of their own, and there are many other places on Planet Earth I’d rather visit right now. Maybe when I have grandkids, but even then, I just don’t see Disney as being an important part of their lives, either.

If you have a lot of medical issues, Disney is the ONLY place to go. (At least for me - I travel solo.) I’ve been all over the world. Now that i have orthopedic problems, very bad digestive issues, etc., i need a place with Disability Access Services, cast members who are quick to help you, and excellent allergy chefs who can make special dishes avoiding your danger foods. I was so much healthier at Disney than at home, because i had specially prepared meals at my sit-down meals.

I will never ride Avatar Flight of Passage or Expedition Everest. Hopefully the next time I go to Walt Disney World my aunt Jody makes a reservation for Be Our Guest Restaurant I'm hoping to eat in The Grand Bsllroom. Not the West Wing dining room

Here is one thing I’ll never do at Disney World is that is to go to it in the first place. For the same money you spend for a week at Disney world, one can take a Caribbean cruise or travel for Europe for a week for much cheaper. I looked at the cost for week long Curise for 2 people and it’s olny $3,200 for a week long Curise on Vrign Voyages for basic room. For the European trip for 2 people including flights, hotels, and food come out to about $5,000. Yet to spend a week in Disney world it costs about $10,000. Or if stay in third party hotels then about $7,000. Also Disney’s politics has been strange lately.

So, Genie thing among other things like changing things based on minority groups and whining. And with Biden's economy, even though we can afford it. We're choosing not to... Other things to do. still sad, We all grew Up loving Disney. The whole magic thing and family thing..
