This game felt perfectly designed: you can't go further untill your gear is not upgraded and it's quite easy to feel. Most of exploration/grind tips would be discovered naturally I guess. I like the tip about islands, it's really likely far anyone to start search them actively.

That’s what I like. It’s a realistic feel for how this would go irl, as far as a video game is concerned. It’s not a step by step “go here, do this. Now do this. Now do this.” For the most part, you figure it out yourself

There is a kind of map in the game, but not in the traditional sense, and you have to work hard to get it. You have to build a Scanner Room every 0.5 kilometers apart (which won’t always be easy thanks to the wildlife), provide it with a reliable source of power (harder than it sounds), and fully upgrade it with the Range Modules. If you do this, you will have a Scanner Room that will scan the terrain for resources 500 meters in every direction. (placed every 1 km apart so they don’t overlay, until you have the whole 2km by 2km map which is roughly a giant sphere inside a giant cube). There is a sonar-style map of the terrain in the center of the room. It’s a 3-dimensional map, and some of the detail gets overlayed and obscured. (For example, I built a scanner room in the south of the dreaded Dunes biome, and looked at the map for 20 minutes from different angles before I realized there was a massive cave in a neighboring biome, even though I was looking right at it). Beacons are probably more reliable and practical.
@raydafuq3570
@raydafuq3570 Жыл бұрын
They are. Even me who plays on PC and has coordinates uses Beacons for everything. I always have 1-3 with me to either mark unfinished locations or where specific biomes are. It's best to place a Beacon at the Aurora and at the Zero point of the map for a start to orient yourself if you're far away from the surface. I also recommend marking every biome with a Beacon. You can find the Zero Point via KZfaq videos if you play on console or you're okay with just Lifepod and Aurora.

My only gripe with this game so far is the box that opens up when you are in your fabricator or on your little computer thing.. it’s too big and you can’t see anything behind it 😂 maybe that’s just me.. loving this game though so far. Brilliant.

This is NOT an "action" adventure game as he\she says in the beginning. It's literally just a survival game. No action. There's NO combat in this game. ZERO. You can cut stuff with a knife but it's NOT combat and it's not recommended by the developers.

Look Man, no hate but this video is horribly made. You prepare people for most obvious stuff that game already teaches the player and leave them to be. You didnt explain anything about lifepods, pda's and even stuff like Degasi base. It wouldnt spoil much really if you didnt directly say coordinates but just mentioned there are 3 abandoned bases. Its just a bad beggining guide. Hope you make a new guide where you explain a lot more about this game and its mechanics.

@@Amalgamingle >"it's not a spoiler because it would only spoil it to someone who hasn't seen it. You know- like a spoiler" Great logic The video is literally made for people who won't have seen a leviathan yet. Obviously it's a spoiler for those people, dum dum

@yothazme2
@yothazme2 10 ай бұрын
@@Amalgamingle look man, I'm not trying to be a dick to you, I'm sorry I came off strong at the offset, but this IS objectively setting up a spoiler for people fresh to the game. I'm not trying to argue whether or not the trailers contain spoilers (which. Like. If you're someone who cares even a little bit about spoilers, yes obviously the trailers are chock full of spoilers). All I'm trying to say is you're making a video specifically geared towards people who are coming to the game for the first time and you put some of the biggest scary bois right at the top. No warning. This is a game that is specifically built on the idea of mystery engaging your sense of fear, so at least in my eyes showing some of the biggest mysteries blatantly and boldly like that is significantly taking away from a first timer's experience. The first time you spy a leviathan reaper in the distance or get jump scared by a ghost leviathan are some of the most impactful moments the game has to offer and showing it early like this softens that horror and joy. That's my long, protracted, singular point. All I'm asking is you be more mindful of things like that when you're targeting an audience like this, which seems fair.

@@Amalgamingle Food/hydration is rather perfunctory in Subnautica so it's really just a modest inventory/effort tax, that eventually becomes basically irrelevant. Removing those mechanics doesn't really change the game all that much, so yeah, hardly "easy mode." However, in my opinion, hardcore is Subnautica's best mode. It's one of the few games where I would recommend hardcore even to new or relatively casual players, because Subnautica is very fair, and doesn't really punish you for not having mechanical skill. If you are attentive, cautious, and make sensible preparations, then you really shouldn't really die, especially once you get past the early game. So given that you typically have to do something kind of reckless or ill-advised to die, I think that sense of stakes can enrich the game enough to be worth the hassle of having to start from the beginning if you die. It really puts the "survival" back in the survival game.
