Good vid bud. Those basic craft paints like Apple barrel are trash when you try anything serious with them lol. They're like clumpy and almost glue like. They don't thin good and mix like crap. Vallejo and other top brands like AK interactive are infinitely better and absolutely worth the price imo.

Very interesting! I find that Testors Model Masters Acrylics used to work the best for me, and their resistance to wear was really great; you had to really dig into it if you wanted to scratch it off. Unfortunately, they don't make them any more (at least, the acrylic versions). I don't know if I did something wrong when I used Vallejo paints, but they left a tacky feel that didn't really go away until some months had passed.

Never used testors, except the model car paints, which are oil based. Did you thin the paints with water and wait for each layer to completely dry before applying another layer? Nothing worse than a tacky figure.

@@chaoscollectibles I did thin the paints, but there's always the possibility that I didn't use enough water. I waited at least 20 minutes for each layer too. I'll try them out again someday, though, in hopes that it will work better next time.

I normally wait about an hour between layers. Sometimes, I ‘lol use a fair dryer to speed up the process. Hope this helps. I’m interested in hearing how it goes for you next time.

Hey bro great video! Ever thought about using an airbrush? I've heard of guys decanting paint cans and using an airbrush for painting model cars. I'm not sure about the process of it. But it's and idea for smoother paint.
