Ok but the bosco cheesesticks at my elementary school rocked HARD! They were always filled to the brim with good cheese, just cooked enough to be crunchy without being impossible to break through the bread, plus towards the end of my fifth year it got some cheese stretch going on, if there was a SINGLE dish I could make every school have on the menu once in a while, it would be the bosco sticks from my school

For me it isn’t necessarily the food but the amount of time we get to eat. Apparently, they think 20 minutes to eat our lunch is plenty of time. Personally, I’m a slower eater so this is a bigger problem for me. But the thing is that our classes are like an hour to an hour and a half??

As an Asian, I don't know why I have seen cheesy chicken and rice before. Apparently, my class said it was good. I don't even know why they would serve these things up. But, lucky for me, I got to choose what my lunch was between 3 options or your lunchbox if you have lunch already.

My school lunch has been improving by a lot actually. They improved on the pizza and now it’s perfectly cooked all the time, they sometimes have funnel cakes on the menu for breakfast and they even added chili dogs, fried mozzarella sticks, and chicken parm sandwiches. Today I found that the chicken was larger than before so I see they are now working with an equal balance of Quantity and Quality

The current “best food” at my school is UNDERCOOKED pizza, to the point where I was worried it was still raw one day, and like you said, they charged too much for it

There were small hairs all over my school hamburger once. I showed it to a teacher and they said it looked like one of my other teachers had shaved all over the burger. I don't know if that was a clue to the mystery meat or evidence of bad school sanitation. And my friend found a bone....I don't think hamburger is supposed to have bones in it.

I remember the green eggs and ham, you know, I remember on dr Seuss’s birthday in kindergarten, I walked into the lunchroom and saw kids eating this, and it honestly looked disgusting, I got yogurt instead 💀

Don't forget the massive slices of cheese pizza that had the smallest amount of sauce possible, a slimy crust that was somehow still burnt, and cheese that was always burnt, looked a felt a bit like potato chips, and you couldn't even bite into because it was so hard and would just come straight off the pizza

This makes me realize how good quality my school lunch actually usually is compared to other schools-

I remember when I was at school, and it was finally time for lunch. I got in the lunch line, got my tray and my food, and went to the register to pay for it. But I didn't have enough money so the cafeteria workers thought it would be a great idea to almost NOT feed me. That day I only had spoiled milk and bland french fries. Also, I tend to be really slow in the morning, so I don't have time to eat after I get ready, unless I want to miss the bus and make my parents late for work and all. So, I'm super hungry before lunch so I was feeling sick to my stomach almost all day, yet the cafeteria workers couldn't even give me the rest of my food for free. I'm pretty sure eating enough is more important than being a dollar off. Cafeterias have great service, don't they?

our mac and cheese was always drier than the sahara desert with some weird hard chunks in it. there wasn't an ounce of liquid. also when we had nachos i had no idea what the cheese was because sometimes it was white but other times it was yellow. my friend found a booger in their cheese one time.

As a European I am so glad I didn’t eat any of this at my school. We actually had food, let alone edible. All of that I would refuse to eat, it looks disgusting. Like on every Friday, we had fish and chips. Actual cooked properly crumbed fish with fries, no salt though. In primary we had proper food. Maybe not very nutritional but real food not whatever the hell those things are. In comprehension the food wasn’t as good but still better then that. Funny school lunch story: On the last day of school, the teachers announced they were going to grill, and naturally, everyone wanted to buy lunch. It was gonna be this huge thing, they even had sliced watermelon, but then when it happened, everything went wrong. The line took so long that kids had to eat outside, the watermelon ran out in two minutes, and the most suspicious thing was the burgers were the same ones they had every day, with a hint of stretchiness in the middle. It was an average lunch day but watermelon for the fast kids and eating outside.

In highschool we had oven baked chicken drumsticks, there was a little bit of pink in it, but it actually had flavor so whatever, nobody got sick. We also had pulled pork flatbread, greasy as heck, but had flavor better than the Not-Sloppy Joe. I'll take the soupy Mac and Cheese over the tacky textued one we had my last year of school.

They also have curly fries, so it ends up like a delicious fast food meal. It’s pretty solid. I think people should cut school food some slack, because it’s really pretty good. I am so glad I live in Belgium. All they fed us was good. It was always either cooked potatoes or mashed potatoes. Then some kind of cooked vegetable like carrots or brocoli. And the meat was actually good. It tasted how it was supposed to taste. And some days there were fries with beef stew. They also did Mac and cheese ( that one was really good) or spaghetti sometimes. There was also this thing called meat bread, it tasted great but looked awfull.

Oh my god this is soo different to what I had to eat in my school, I'm actually from a different country (Italy) and I remembered we didn't get pizza at all.. we would have a first and second serving than a fruit for dessert. For first serving we had stuff like: peas cream with crostini, pasta with tomato sauce, pasta with pesto, ravioli, soup For second serving we had: roastery chicken legs with boiled potatoes, a slice of tomato with some salad and some cream cheese, some fish sticks with peas

I never had school lunch, but I have a friend that did have school lunch (he now has his own lunch). Anyway, apparently the school served food with "zero pork" since there were many Muslims in the school. Our school lunch menu has mainly meat in it, and on Friday school lunchers get "pizza". A few weeks after the school year started, my friend actually found pork in the pizza, the hamburger, and basically EVERYTHING THAT HAD MEAT. That's right. EVERYTHING HAD PORK. So before he got his own lunch, I'd give him my snacks that I wouldn't eat. Thankfully, he has his own lunch now. Edit: I just realized two of my school's students got sick from the school lunch, so that sucks.

My school doesn’t give us cheese in our burgers. We used to also have fries, but even if the fries could come straight out of the microwave they would still be cold and soggy.
