Also, the maximum seafarer's Baggage allowance is 40 kgs in 2 Different Bags. Make sure you read your flight tickets carefully! Always keep your documents in your handbag.

Yes, there will be some difficulty in getting good veg food because there may not be much varieties. Self-Meal preparation mostly depends on the Captain of your ship.

Well that's depends on numerous factors, first the work hours drain you so bad that your body start begging for sleep, as for cadet there is no fix work schedule he should be always ready on call , second the availability of internet most of the ship now equipped with wifi but still you have very limited amount of data and speed is dead slow, and many more factors. Now for Captain and officer they don't care what you are doing in your rest hour, you can choose to talk to your girlfriend or sleep or watching some movie doing workout its your rest hour spend it wisely and finally you don't need anyone permission to talk to your love ones. Pre joining ship medicals will be conducted by your company. So you don't have to pay for it! Validity is 1 year or 2 years, depending upon the medical centre.
