I recently moved from Sydney to Canberra Australia & thought I would enlist the help of my good friend Jess (a Canberra local) to show me the ropes and give me the official tour!

You need to go to the war memorial, a walk around the lake, the pedal boats on the lake (though you probably want to wait til it’s a bit warmer for that!), tidbinbilla, the tracking station, & old Parliament House...

I’ve been to the memorial 4 times :) I love it I’m a huge history buff! And go for lake walks all the time! It has been freezing though lately! 😅❄️ I haven’t been to the last 3 though I’ll have to check them out! Thankyou!! Xxx

Anjh Mhaine lol, Old Parliament House and Parliament House (otherwise known as New Parliament House) are 2 different places... the old one is in my opinion MUCH nicer than the new one, which is where she visited in this video 😊

I've lived here for over 20 years and just got back from Alberta in Canada. Canberra is the most boring and uneventful place on the face of the earth and while yes, picking your own clique of people to run with is important. The air of the people is just low key depression and pretentiousness.

You can drive from Canberra to Sydney easily. You don't have to fly between the two cities. Driving is more affordable.

@@2partiesnotpreferred226 The Coast, movie world, sea world, Sydney sites. Even just visiting Sydney, for me coming from Canberra is was almost the size of a large town when I was younger so going to different places around Australia is really nice, don't get me wrong Canberra is a nice place to live.

You have to choose a location which doesn't get echoed with the droning of cars, but it depends exactly what scenario you want.

Did you say Sunny Sydney, you are kidding yourself. I grew up in Canberra and it is by no means any colder than Sydney. It is 279km from Civic center in Canberra to Sydney centre. Sort yourselves out.

Idk it’s probably because of the beach makes around it hotter much more tropical if we say melbourne with the unpredictable weather probably both one of the hottest and coldest part of Australia

It's never minus 6 in Sydney. You also get summers in Canberra that barely go over 20 and then the next year it could be 45

@@2partiesnotpreferred226 Obviously you are ignorant to the facts (you can easily check them online), Depending on where you take the temperature in Sydney ie Paramatta (more central) vs Vaucluse or Penrith, the average temperature in winter is less than 5 degrees difference when compared to Canberra and Canberra actually has a higher average temperature during Summer than anywhere in Sydney. I have never seen a summer in Canberra that barely goes over twenty and on average I would say from experience (51 years) the summer temperatures are generally around 30 degrees celsius. Minus 6 no but minus 1 or 2 is not unheard of.

@@chapmansbg it gets to minus 6 most year for a couple of nights. You can get around in shirt and shorts in Sydneys winter, Penrith can get to minus 1 on occasion but generally you have 15 to 20 winter days. You don't get 22 degree winter days in Canberra. Lucky to get above 12. I have spent the month of January a few times and some years you can't even go for a swim, it is rare but happens. I won't argue with the extreme heat Canberra can get, it is beside Penrith in the hottest places I have been. A sunny 8 degree Canberra winter day can be surprisingly pleasant. The climates are not majorily different but it is a shock to people who live in Sydneys east. Canberra is usually only 2 degree colder then southern highlands. Today is a cracking day.
