thank you for a great video, you forgot the DIDI/Grab app that is needed, and Ali Pay to pay, however cash also can be used. Also possible use of Esim , can also purchase VPN card for china on line.

i'm going to china in 2 days. last year i tried using nordvpn and express vpn they both didn't work. i am gonna try ur 2 suggestions. do i turn on the vpn before going on the plane? also if i use the vpn but have a chinese sim card does it not work at all?

Can to explain more how to set vpn? Does it require to set vpn manually? Or we can just use vpn like normally? Do We just need to activate the vpn right before boarding to china?

The vpn app should give you instructions... Some require downloading/connecting in the phone setting. Some works immediately in the app. Yes, make sure the vpn works before arriving.

Unfortunately Baidu Map’s software interface does not permit translations to English. What you can do is type the place you want to go in alphabet or pinyin and it still will show Have fun in China!

For restaurant recommendations you can use 大众点评. Map wise, i only used baidu

It’s hard because i don’t know which app to download. For example, when I type Baidu, I get 2 different apps one is a blue paw with “du” written on it and another with a red pin with “du” also

The blue paw is the search engine- think of it as google and the red pin one is the baidu map - similar to google maps. Hope this helps ☺️
