Beechworth & its surrounds took us by surprise and here's why.
There is so much to see and do here accommodating all kinds of hobbies and fun activities. We however, stuck to the bush within the Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park where we found waterfalls, free camps by the river and gold history. Visits into the town of Beechworth & Eldorado took us back a century because the buildings are so well preserved.
The landscape is dominant with huge boulder granite outcrops and dusty roads. Eroded waterfalls, short hikes through the Australian bush & Aboriginal Cultural Sites. There is of course so much to explore here.
We visit the Woolshed Falls at sunset, Camp at the Yeddonba Aboriginal Cultural Site where we walked with country. We spent the day at Beechworth, where we visited the Queen Victoria Park, Beechworth Honey Experience & the Gorge Scenic Drive. It wasn't long before we made our way back to the bush, finding a secret waterfall and a huge gold dredge.
