Right? And I think rdr2 is probably more realistic, not seeing colors that's a bit ridiculous (this is coming from an alcoholic) but saying dumb shit to the people you know and are very close and them just berating you saying you're drunk is closer to realism than taking 6 shots of whiskey and now your feet dont work, maybe for a lightweight but John drank quite a bit before RDR1

Another feature from this game that should be in the second game is people fearing you with a lower honor level, to the point where crimes outside of outright murder won't be reported by the townsfolk. In RDR2 the low honor benefits are very very minor, I think the only real one is gaining more money and jewellery from robberies and dead people.

Yessss! I played RDR2 first and it's only after playing RDR1 that I realized how much playing low honor in the second game is underdeveloped. Clearly the devs wanted you to play high honor, that butchered the whole thing. It's so much more fun in RDR1.

Yes people react to what you have done which great but this should be in the game. One thing that is great in RDR2 is if you shoot up a town you can come across Random encounters with the family members. would have been been cool if you killed the sheriff in rhodes the raiders would take over the town. Also Maybe towns folk trying to bend togeather to kick you out town like instead of shooting you they would form an a mob. would have also been cool to have side quest with two people trying to build on the land lets say One is trying to build Ranch while another is trying to build a town and you have to decide who to help The RDR2 already has evloving events which are cool. RDR2 is one the best open worlds i have played same with RDR1 but I feel like RDR2 came some close to reaching its full potential and its shame to see as they could easily do a next gen update and included some of this stuff.

I understand why they took half of these out though. Like the properties doesnt make sense. Because Arthur lives in a camp with the gang. So he wouldnt be buying and living in properties. Only reason John does is because he is pretty much living off the land while on the hunt for the gang in the first game and hes on his own at that time. The pardon letter makes more sense in one.. because John works on behalf of the US government technically I guess.. so they didnt want him in prison or jail I'm sure if it happened while he was turning stones . Bounty hunting is unlimited in the first one because it basically boils down to simplicity. Every one is pretty much, Show up, shoot gang, capture leader. In the second game.. the bounties are a lot more unique and have story and substance. So thats why they couldnt do unlimited. Barrell roll is cool, but i can see why they opted for a more realistic approach with two. Skinning cats and dogs thing probably just came down to being and feeling more messed up in better graphics and a more realistic engine. But idk lol

to be fair though after completing the main chapters you DO play as John in the epilogue, and once you complete American Venom, Marston is left with an immense amount of spendable currency. so adding properties would be feasible, and in all honesty convenient to the player. I found the factor of Red Dead Two charging up the ass for horses that aren't in a deed somewhat sigh worthy as well. Of course your horse doesn't die in gunfire often, but if you trip or run into a tree you may find your mount injured. and that's a PAIN IN THE AAAAASSSSSS when you don't conveniently have horse reviver on your person. I love Red Dead Two, and it is objectively one of the greatest games out there undoubtedly. But Red Dead one is pretty unparalleled in terms of story and atmosphere. rdr1's ambient music has to be the best of any video game i played in all honesty it's on par with Hiveswap and Undertale/Deltarune. but man, if anything. I think red dead two shit the bed in terms of ambient music.

@BadMothaKalashnikov8 ай бұрын
@@og._dyn way-point fast-travel is just being too lazy. It's like using a Mod Trainer and just click map and spawn to that spot instantly; it's actually REALLY STUPID. This game map IS NOT so big that this is needed. And people miss all kinds of stuff of doing this in RDR2. Also RDR2 has the Cinematic Mode, where you select a waypoint on your map, then go and get your horse on to a marked road, enter cinematic camera mode, then double tap SHIFT key. Now your horse will auto pilot to said waypoint. However depending on where and when you are doing that, could lead to problems such as certain random and/or unavoidable enemy interactions you wouldn't want to happen while in this auto pilot mode and being AFK.
@SohiHien8 ай бұрын
@@og._dyn It takes a few minutes to travel across the map with a good horse. Also the fast travel system will take you close to where you want to go anyway so a fast travel and then horseback to exact location takes a few minutes at most. Instant teleport to location seems pretty immersion breaking which this game was trying not to do where it could. I like to roleplay a bit while playing and feel as if I'm the character, and from what I've seen RDR2 does that better than 1. I dunno though, I'll need to play the first one (have a PS5 so not sure what I'll play it on) Edit: just checked and I remembered that it's been remastered for 50 dollars. Thanks rockstar, sure glad you want to make my pay you a modern triple A title for a 14 year old game.

One thing I don’t see talked about a lot is the horses in both games. While I can’t deny the variety and mechanics of horses is much more vast in RDR2, the horses in RDR just felt more real. The better horses had clear benefits in speed, agility, and stamina, and when you rode the horses there was just something that felt real.
@Pedro_Le_Chef10 ай бұрын
100% In RDR2 all horses actually have the same speed. They tested it by using the fastest and the slowest horse and their time difference over a lengthy distance was but a few seconds. RDR1 horses had appreciably different speeds, stamina and health stats. They felt more unique.

I liked how in the first game you could buy and equip a bandana to keep your honor from going down when you're offing people. I remember when I first played Red Dead Redemption that I grinded for cash by hunting, sold it all at a store, bought the bandana, and just began committing every robbing crime imaginable which allowed me to rake in a ton of money in the beginning and over the course of the story, as well as making my bounty go up at an incredible rate, but I made sure to also make sure my honor kept going up, up, up, instead of down, down, down. By the third to last mission of the story, I was at maximum High Honor and over sixty thousand dollars, and my bounty was at three hundred thousand dollars. And by the time I completely maxed out the entire game at one hundred percent total gameplay completion with everything collected and ninety-nine of everything collected in my satchel, I was able to accumulate six hundred thousand dollars, and my bounty capped out at the maximum of two million dollars and wouldn't go higher...trust me, I tried, but it wouldn't work.

high stakes poker is another thing i miss a lot from red dead redemption. It really irritated me in the second game when you did the high stakes poker game on the boat in saint denis for that one mission and that was it. i was really hoping they would let you maybe go back to the boat later in the game for some high stakes poker as john, but no, you’re stuck at a max buy in of five dollars and that sucks. in RDR1 the lowest buy in is bigger than the max buy in RDR2. i was really hoping they would give us more than a 5 dollar buy in considering how much money you actually make during the story. at least in RDR1 you could make a profit from playing poker

I'd imagine one of the reasons you can't purchase property in RDR2 would be that it can become a retcon, in that, if while playing as John in RDR2 you buy a property, there would need to be a reason you don't own it in RDR1, and it's possible that they didn't want to implement a feature in the earlier segments of the game as Arthur, that you couldn't use as John. Just a thought though.

I never played the first game, only read about it in its wiki. I can understand many things that were left out but the horse deed is useful to preserve a horse you like. Bounty hunting its understandable with its unique target but should have left low criminals as repeatable encounters. Why, with theneed to eat and such to perverse your stamina and such, you need steady supplies, so a way of a steady income is needed. With the bounties and nightwatch, you kinda had that in rdr1, something I think RDR2 would have needed

to be fair on the buying of houses in rdr2, It would probably undermine some of the meaning behind the gang's camp, since now arthur is out there living on a random house he bought, while the rest of the gang lives on a random camp in the middle of nowhere.
