FYI The video really should have pointed out that each round has 4 bullets. Not mentioning bullets per round along with RPM and damage per bullet when bullets per round isn't 1 is weird. 750 RPM (12.5 /s) × 4 bullets/round × 20 damage/bullet = 1000 damage/s. Damage per shot is 80 max. More ammo efficient than the heavy cannon. Only one of the 4 bullets in the shot leaves a tracer and a decal. You cannot see the other three but they are there and they deal damage. Mobile turret adds the +4 damage to each pf the 4 bullets, so damage per shot goes from 80 to 96, and DPS goes from 1000 to 1600.

that makes much more sense. i could never understand why it doesn less damage than the HC yet in game it still kills fodder much faster. thanks for enlightening us :D

Is it only me that thought the chaingun design on eternal was more 'toy' look compare to 2016? The mod is better though in eternal.

IMO the one in 2016 looked extremely generic so I personally like eternal’s design more it’s more unique

Yeah it has blue muzzle flash and blue bullet impact marks which is a bit weird... Almost as if it's firing plasma or something other than metal bullets. The design in eternal is overly clean tho, definitely close to a toy like you said. In 2016 it was more metal and Heavy duty.

The 2016 chaingun has a much more realistic look. Dare I say even makeshift. Eternal's chaingun does look much sleeker and thicker and technologicaly advanced. I mean it shoots lasers now, not to mention it literally has a toy skin lol.

the blue bullets make it stand out much more and I feel like it's way more satisfying to use than the Doom 2016 chaingun since the bullets look like they make an impact, and the black paintjob also sets it apart compared to the more yellow/metal designs we've gotten before in doom, but I understand how it could look more cartoony than the others.

The shield saved me so much un my UV Horde mode run. If you want to have the best outcome you pretty much have to use this mod.

It is ridiculous that you can use shield every 5 seconds... It should have at least 12 seconds cooldown. It is really life saving wheny you are at low health, you just hold shield shoot with chingun, burn enemies, throw ice grenade then frag grenades and use blood punch to get quickly armor and health. And you do it evertime you are at low health.

@@vmxkarelyn_0842 Yeah, minigun turret adds some faltering but in my opinion it is too small deal, because while using micromisiless you can throw grenades which falter or freeze demons in some small range area which is better option if you have one. Mobile turret should be buffed in my opinion. But it's already that way for way too long, so ID software doesn't care about it.

@@WarframeCrunch If you really want something dead, you can either spam lock-on rocket or micromissiles. You will be surprised at how fast something dies with freezebomb + boosted damage micro missiles. The only time you'd want to use the chaingun is if you're using zoning tactics (that is to stay away from demons as far as possible) because of it's faltering abilities. In eternal, you can use every gun and be competent. But it is highly HIGHLY tempting to brute force your way with the big three in any given situation anyway..

When I usually master chaingun shield, I use lock on bursts. Very quick.

Doom 2016 chaingun fires 15mm tungsten uranium depleted slugs at over 5,000 m/s Doom Eternal chaingun fires 7.62mmx51mm rounds at railgun propulsion speeds, at least 3x as fast as Doom 2016's chaingun

I say this a lot but I wish they had made the CG shield much different than it is right now. Serves itself as a solution to many problems. It's free (yet incredibly stupidly requires you to have ammo even though it doesn't use any, which just encourages using the invulnerability but not the f***ing gun itself). You can be invulnerable with it over a third of the time. There are damage types that it simply doesn't do anything with, which isn't mentioned anywhere to my knowledge. It's just a complete messy mishmash of design held together by wishes. I guess it does _work_ and it's not the worst thing ever, I just wish it had cleverer design. (Not to mention weird implementation quirks.) Also, not really an argument, just a mention: The game is basically trivialized if you have maykr drones around and spam the shield and rocket bursts. I found myself being funneled into that unfunzone and I just unequipped both of those mods.

I love to use the chaingun to falter-lock some of the bigger enemies. Lock on rockets then chaingun gives you a full shield blast unless on a Baron or Tyrant, in which case just shoot the chaingun a bit or throw a frag. Turret mod is fun but I feel like they could’ve tuned the chaingun a bit better to give it more unique utility because the “spray and pray” can be done better with either the plasma rifle or MM.

I only use the chaingun as a way to soften heavy demons for glory kills or if I've just tossed a grenade/have blood punch ready, so I have a falter ready as to not get smacked around.

Chaingun is the micro-anxiety fuckit option, full auto is my chaingun for cleaning up small mobs and lingering heavies.

Bro your videos are spot on. Just put the captions / subtitles a little lower wo we can watch in full screen and pause without the KZfaq UI interfering. It's annoying AF. I'm not native English speaking an pausing is pretty much mandatory for me...

So, does the maximum possible damage from chaingun + shield launch exceed or at least closely match what is possible with the mobile turret (assuming both are fully upgraded), or will the mobile turret always deliver more dps?

Wow, the mobile turret is so weak. Its fire rate shall be at least 1200 RPM. Damage dealt by the shield dash also ignores Pinky's armor, and you can bash these hell pigs to death without losing any point of health.
