We will discuss the origins of Zionism, antisemitism, the balfour declaration, the Jaffa Riots, the Palestinian Revolt, the Jewish Insurgency, the Bombing of the King David hotel, and MUCH, MUCH MORE!
Part 2 will come shortly!

This is an incredibly biased retelling. Islamic antisemitism is completely left out, obscure conversations between individual Zionists are treated as doctrine, several quotes by British officials were deliberately misinterpreted (especially Balfour), and one-sided massacres against Jews, such as Nebi Musa were largely just framed as clashes. Oversimplified would do better.

This is an incredibly complex topic. Unfortunately, this video does not analyze this historical event from a neutral standpoint. There are a bunch of statements that are not sourced because they are opinions, unfortunately. These opinions are stated as truths. A neutral analysis does not work this way. I will show below the timestams when opinions or false information is stated as truths. 'There was no Jewish or British plan to expel Arabs from the proposed Jewish state' 20:05 'Not just people but Jews were hiring Jews. Also Arabs were hiring Arabs. That's not a big surprise. Although it is made to sound as if the British imposed segregation laws, which I could not find.' 16:38 'Well, it is the author's personal opinion to state that zionism is a colonial project. There are plenty of reasons why this can not be true.' 9:56 'While it is true that the British gave military assistance to the Palmach forces of the Haganah in 1942. It is not mentioned, however, that the British stopped doing so in 1943 and attempted to disarm the Haganah. Making it sound as if the British played the main role in building the Haganah.' 24:58 Let's also not forget things that were not included in this video, which could explain things that seemed a bit sketchy. For example, the Jewish bitterness towards the British was not simply about restricting Jewish imagination. Jewish refugees during WW2 that fleed to the british mandate were intercepted by the royal navy and placed in concentration camps in Cyrus. If it was mentioned what actually happened to Jewish refugees who tried to enter the British mandate, Lehi's sentiment would have made some logic.

I love this channel as much as I love Oversimplified. The creator of this video told histories from both sides of the conflict and did not even sugarcoat any war crime or attrocities commited by both sides (such as attrocities commited by US and South Koreans during Korean War) , which helped me listening to the other side of the story and helped with my history research. Keep up the good work, brother ❤

Are you serious? He sugarcoats this SO much for the Arabs. This video is infuriatingly biased. He paints the Jews as evil and the Arabs as innocent victims. This is essentially the “history” of the region as told by Yassar Arafat, but without the outright Jew-hatred.

So I've been seeing a bit of map inaccuracies in this video, so when Britain colonized Palestine after the Ottomans fell, it was called "The British Mandate of Palestine" which includes of Israel (minus Golan Heights), Palestine, and Jordan. And in 25:09, when it shows Vichy France over Syria and Lebanon it also shows Turkey there too, which is inaccurate. Turkey stayed out of the conflict entirely. I don't want to send hate, I just want to point out some inaccurate stuff mapping.

Furthermore, without careful consideration throughout the video, it is stated that zionism is a colonialist project. This quote by history professor Alexander Yakobson perfectly describes where this argument collapses: "In other words, zionism was a colonialist phenomenon in all respects and fully resembled other examples of modern colonialism apart from the fact that it was a national movement, that it was not motivated by the desire of economical gain, that it arose out of Jewish suffering, and was realized by people who may be defined as refugees, that the settlers had no colonial mother country, and that the bond with the land of Israel was part of the traditional historical identity of the Jewish people. Otherwise, it is totally colonialism." Moreover, unlike what is claimed in the video. There was never a plan by the Hagana or the Jewish administration to expel Arab Palestinians from the proposed Jewish state. The reason why Arabs fled during the 1947 war is due to their initiation of a war to destroy the self-proclaimed Jewish state. Indeed, Arab villages were destroyed during the 1947 war, but none of that would have happened if no war had taken place. The fact that many Arabs after the war stayed in Israel should be an indication. Also Jews in the West Bank and the Arab world ended up getting displaced as a result of this war. Also, why is there no mention of the deportation of Jewish refugees to camps in British controlled Cyprus during WW2 due to the white paper? This is important information that could explain why many Jews viewed the British as an enemy. The reason why this conflict has not been solved for so long has to do with the Palestinian misinterpretation of Israelis. Palestinians see Israeli Jews as Europeans with no historical connection to the land and, therefore, should be driven out to the sea and never be negotiated with. Since Israel supposedly has no right to exist from the get go. This claim that zionism is colonialism only justifies the Palestinian perception of Israelis and would make coexistence and mutual understanding between nations impossible. (Even though, most Israeli Jews today are Mizrahi. Ashkenazi, Sephardic, and Mizrahi Jews have 20 to 40 percent Samarian DNA. There is a strong Jewish cultural connection to the land and much archeological evidence of ancient Jewish civilizations on the land.) The PLO drew inspiration from the FLN's fight against France to the point where they use the same tactics. Making it too costly for the colonizer to stay. But the French left, and the Jews never did because the French had somewhere else to go, but the Jews never did. The Palestinian elite understood the Jews completely wrong. They think that Israel continues to survive because of an empire. But what they fail to grasp is that the empire kept changing. It went from the Russian empire in the 19th century, to the British empire in the early 20th century, then the Soviet empire in the mid 20th century, afterwards the French empire after the Suez crisis, and lastly it became the American empire in the late 20th century. Because the Jews sought help from different powers for their own survival, just like many 3rd world nations. The British were not always on the Jewish side, especially when they voted against the UN partition plan that enabled the Jews to have their own state. Hopefully, some of this will be considered in the next part of this series.

@jasporflex1976 first of all, Israel has every right to exist and to defend itself; it s the Palestinians who dont. Secondly, tldr _ I stopped when you said zionism is not colonialism. You need to read more and inform yourself better . Zionism goes further than just colonialism; its jewish racial supremacy. It has embedded the same racism that jewish people had suffered throughout the story. You need to learn how to be more concive and deliver your message. Israel is a terrorist state that disregards Geneva Conventions, bombs UN buildings, hospitals, schools; accuses hamas of using human shields and guess what, IDF itself uses human shields. Israel wants to stop terrorism behaving like terrorist. The only way to stop this GENOCIDE is to provoke the international comunity to intervene. STOP PALESTINIAN GENOCIDE. STOP PALESTINIAN GENOCIDE.

@jasporflex1976 First of all it was all about british colonialism. And colonialism cannot be seen separately from Racial Supremacy. Secondly, zionism goes further than just colonialism; it is Jewish Racial Supremacy. They try to enforce into the Palestinians the same treatment western powers gave them all throughout history. Jewish people have close ties to colonial administration, fascism, apartheid and are used to colaborate with the exploiters. Did you know that jewish peolpe were the administrative leadership to the ghetos in Europe actively cooperating with the holocaust? They had to give their own keen to be transported to the killing camps. Further than that, the fuher himself had to expel some of the Jewish official he had on his army. The jews get mad because the Palestinians refuse to play the same roll. And the IDF promote terrorism while acuse hamas of the same. Israel bombs UN building and kill UN personel, bombs hospitals, schools whilst accusing the hamas of using human shields and guess what IDF itself uses human shields, we ve seen a paleatinians straped to the front of a wartruck (they learned from the UK) , They placed some strategic Security offices in the middle of highly populated areas. Israel wants to have the cake and eat it. Israel disrespects the Geneva Conventions it s signatory. And war crimes are imprescritibles. You need to read more and inform yourself better. STOP PALESTINIAN GENOCIDE!

An interesting point I noticed. Since in 1920 Riot, Jaffa Riots, and 1929 riots, and subsequent riots, Jews always suffered more casualties (Dead and Injured), while consisting less than 20% of the population. Didn't that mean the Jewish population was being brutalized by the majority population? So the Jews have some right to defend themselves, have civil rights, and be protected by the British? While at the same time, the open border that lets the Jews in, letting them have preferential treatment and all, in the end caused the Arab population to get disenfranchised, getting sidelined, and after a while being replaced by the Jewish population. What the Arab population does is actually try to protect themselves from being replaced by the immigrants coming to their land and taking their right. I swear I have seen this one before, must be Déjà vu

@PAIS-zz9yx good point. Jewish people was better treated in those episodes than they were in europe, And they started to buy the better pieces of land and displace the locals away. To this day we hear coming from the beacon of modern society the mantra "jews will not replace us" with those pathetic tiki torches. I loved when he said that American evangelicals believe that sending the Jews back to Canaan they will provoke the return of Jesus or the Messiah, that part was epic.

They suffered more casualties at that time because they were a minority. A minority that wanted to take a land only for themselves because they got too afraid from racism that they became racists themselves. Upon watching this video a couple times and noting several historical inaccuracies and fallacies. I took it upon myself to write this small timestamp corrections list thingamajig. If it is not so hilariously obvious by the list of ‘historical’ sources cited in the making of this video: Ilan Pappe - The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, Rashid Khalidi - The Hundred Years War on Palestine, Benny Morris - The Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Problem Revisited, Sami Adwan, Dan Bar-On, Eyal Naveh - Side by Side, Parallel Histories of Israel-Palestine, Nur Masalha - Expulsion of the Palestinians, The Concept of "Transfer" in Zionist Political Thought,1882-1948. This video and its sources lean heavily and advocate a pro palestinian side to the story while not using any sources of the opposite or really any other view (I will link some at the end) and therefore not just simplifying but GROSSly oversimplifying this subject, its causes and consequences and building a inaccurate incomplete and concerningly dangerous narrative for easy consumption of the youtube masses, who mistakenly think they left this video with a semi-complete understanding of the inception of this conflict. Although this may be of no concern to Things I care about, or anyone else for that matter. History is not black and white but a palette of grays, in order to get a complete picture and fully understand a subject, you must look at all sides, even the ones you don't want to for sake of convenience or laziness. I want to express my disappointment with how little thought and research went into putting together this video and I am highly concerned for the motives behind it, be it personal gain or something a little more sinister like trying to spoon feed your audience a specific perspective. I recommend to everyone here who is looking to understand this subject to take a gander at the sources I will link at the end and make your own conclusions. You can do better. 1:35 Israel was not the “Lucky winner” due to religious reasons. Most Zionist Jews both then and now are secular. Even if perhaps for Evangelical Christians and some Jews, a fervent religious cause is more appealing, it is not the case for the wider audience whom Zionism is meant to appeal to (Being all the world's Jews, governments and world organizations it seeks support from). It is also worth noting Jews, since their mass exodus from Israel have always felt a longing for their lost home. What was then called Palestine was chosen due to a couple of reasons, none of them “Because God promised it”. 1 Palestine was chosen due to the already existing indigenous population of Jews in the area (although comparatively small) as well as the strong historical, cultural and native connection to the land. Simply Jews do not belong anywhere else. 2 Palestine was chosen because even if discussed, no already established country wanted to give a portion of their state to Jews and invite the mass migration of an ethnicity which was largely discriminated against by the local populations and in all legal, governmental and national institutions. Which is evident all through Jewish history. Instead amid the fall of the Ottoman empire, the opportunity to establish new countries in its seized territories ‘made sense’. 1:48 Yes people living there including the native Jewish population who were discriminated against. 2:12 Ridiculous claim, especially when stating afterward that it was achieved through land purchases. If you are going to say harass you should at least specify how. 2:31 Speculative, inaccurate and honestly hilarious claim. Not because one Zionist (Weizmann) made a discriminatory and racist statement, automatically makes all Zionists racists, especially after stating some Zionists wanted to live alongside the Arabs (1:50). This is an argumentative fallacy called ‘The fallacy of composition’ and is something that is taught in middle school. Not to mention EVERYONE was racist even the races discriminated against. Very much so including Arabs. 9:36 “Beginning to resist their colonial project” if anything Zionism is the single biggest and most successful DEcolonization project in the history of the world. The Arab Palestinian occupying population, although very well established in the land of Israel, are a product of neo-colonial Arab imperialism. They are not natives of the Levant. Many Arab countries today, which were established through brutal conquest, subjugation and ethnic cleansing, from the time of the prophet Mohammed up to this day have subjected their native populations like the Persians, the Egyptians, Kurds, Jews etc to be second or even third class citizens with discriminatory laws and sometimes even forms of taxation. 13:08 The Al Aqsa mosque was built on top of the only and holiest Jewish site on purpose as another form of Arab Muslim colonialism. Not because Arab Muslims came along and built a golden nipple on top of someone else's holy site as a means of appropriation and theft of someone else's land, culture, and religion, and claiming it to be theirs, makes it so. As an interesting side note, Muslims believe the Al Aqsa mosque to be the place where prophet Mohammed uttered his last prayer before ascending into heaven yet it was built around 53 years after his death. 13:33 Hilarious and incredibly hypocritical since it was Arab Palestinians and Muslims who appropriated the Jewish holy site, especially since Jews were not even on top of the temple mount where the Al Aqsa mosque is, but instead below it and a significant distance away next to the only renaming wall of the first Jewish temple “The Wailing Wall''. Permission to visit your own holiest site lmao. 16:56 Inaccurate, Jewish paramilitaries were not publicly trained in order to provoke Arabs and instances of the same raiding Arab villages out of spite are null. Jewish paramilitaries were formed and trained as a direct response to Arab Palestinian violence and harassment. 17:42 Inaccurate. Their previous ‘diplomatic’ solutions are a joke, except for a few proper and civilized commissions and similars, their previous attempts to stop the Zionist movement were mostly exclusively violent. 17:50 Inaccurate, this statement is another fallacy called “post hoc, ergo propter hoc,” a Latin phrase meaning “after this, therefore because of this.” The phrase expresses the logical fallacy of assuming that one thing caused another merely because the first thing preceded the other. Since it's a ‘reaction’ it means Arabs would not have acted or acted in a different way if not provoked by the Jews or the British which is in itself an assumption. Palestinian Arabs have been proactive from the very beginning and to cast them in a passive light is a dangerous and inaccurate retelling of events. 28:58 The King David Hotel was the site of the British military command and the British Criminal Investigation Division. The Irgun chose it as a target after British troops invaded the Jewish Agency on June 29, 1946, and confiscated large quantities of documents. At about the same time, more than 2,500 Jews from all over Palestine were placed under arrest. A week later, news of a massacre of 40 Jews in a pogrom in Kielce, Poland, reminded the Jews of Palestine how Britain's restrictive immigration policy had condemned thousands to death. Irgun leader Menachem Begin stressed his desire to avoid civilian casualties and said three telephone calls were placed, one to the hotel, another to the French Consulate, and a third to the Palestine Post, warning that explosives in the King David Hotel would soon be detonated. On July 22, 1946, the calls were made. Adina Hai-Nisan said she called the hotel switchboard 30 minutes before the explosion. That call was apparently received and ignored. Begin quotes one British official who supposedly refused to evacuate the building, saying: We don't take orders from the Jews. The Irgun also detonated a bomb nearby, which broke windows, but did not cause any injuries and may have been intended to cause panic and encourage evacuation of the building. As a result, when the bombs exploded, the casualty toll was high: a total of 91 killed and 45 injured. Among the casualties were 15 Jews. In contrast to Arab attacks against Jews, which were widely hailed as heroic actions, the Jewish National Council denounced the bombing of The King David Hotel. For decades, the British denied they had been warned. In 1979, however, a member of the British Parliament introduced evidence that the Irgun had indeed issued the warning. He offered the testimony of a British officer who heard other officers in the King David Hotel bar joking about a Zionist threat to the headquarters. www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/bombing-of-the-king-david-hotel 31:08 Palestinian Arabs faced a DEcolonization project which was not outspoken (entirely) nor desired to get rid of Arabs but to coexist, up to this day. Any and every of these attempts which were not mentioned once yet, were outright refused and respond to with violence form Arab Palestinians as is the norm and most evident during recent times where every attempt by the Israeli government to form and independent Arab state (Not to mention the literal creation of Jordan and everything that went down there) had been shut down by Palestinian Arabs themselves and also responded to with violence from the very beginning. 31:50 I think this just goes to show how much Jews in the diaspora cared and believed in the importance of a state vs what Arab Muslims in the diaspora and locally cared about Arab Palestinians or their ‘self determination’ 32:25: Sighs in defeat, as it's obvious where part 2 will take and present the Zionist movement as.

List of videos about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict I consider to be a lot more accurate and overall better: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mcybiKhmtpavYGg.htmlsi=Rt3dDAOJz1vNThg4 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rLulhZBk2d2doGw.htmlsi=kb4fUiuojC3J5UTg kzfaq.info/sun/PLSmG0ySpQbe51uif8vvWhRVCERBm-sEnE&si=O780iyOFcAs1wMaw This last video is a lot less serious and has a lot of jokes and dank memery and although not to be taken completely seriously, at face value its quite accurate. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gblxl7F3zb2qlHk.htmlsi=tT3En7vLylmkjygp

1. In no point there was a goal of horresing arabas to take the land, in the declration of indepandants of israel it says that jews and arabs will live side by side, the partision plan was to divide the land not taking the whole of it 2. There was more then 4% jews in the rigen, any way the majority was arab but not all across the land, the north was full of swamps and the soth a dessert, the big arabs citys laft unharmed untill today. Most of the place jews came to was allready theres or just unhibeted. 4.the local and new jews suffered from pogroms both by arabs and briten until israel announce indepandents. Until 1972 israel had no suport from america or euorope. 5. 7 arabs armies have been trying for 50 years to genside all jews, in there own land they sacsided ( google how many jews are in yemen or iraq). In all wars israel had won, that is the only reson they exist t@@adamlifegaming202
