"Think You Can't Sing? Think Again!" (www.thinkyoucantsing.com) is a book by Richard Swan, aimed at dispelling the myths around tone-deafness and inability to sing. As the director of huge non-audition choir London City Voices, Richard frequently meets people who have been told that they cannot sing, but who just need a little bit of tuition to start hitting the right notes. He has never yet met someone who he hasn't been able to teach. There is over 90 minutes of video in this series which Richard has made completely free for anyone to use, but they will make far more sense if you do purchase the book. Enjoy, and do please spread the word!
We can produce all sorts of sounds with our voice, from a creaking door to a whining puppy. In this lesson, Richard talks about the different registers of the voice and gives you a very basic outline of how they work, and how you can use them to help you sing better.
