Had mine for 2 years now! Love my car! 111,000 miles today! 1.5L eco boost upgraded to cool air intake, and added 20” aftermarket tuner rims. I also run a tuner performance chip as well. The coolant issue is a recall that takes about an hour computer upgrade.

I have a 17 with the 1.5. What kind of tune do you have and what numbers did it give you. i'm seriously interested, the main issue with these is I think the 1.5 is underpowered, passing on the freeway is sketchy and it takes forever having to stomp on it to get up to freeway speed here in Atlanta, GA where everyone is cruising at 85mph

I have a Ford Kuga which is the European version of the Ford Escape. with us in Italy it is not very popular but I love it. 2.0 150hp (DIESEL) awd 380nm of torque and Vignale version with natural leather interior. I hope the Powershift 6dct450 is reliable.

Hope other people have more luck then I did with my Escape. Just bought a used 2017 Escape with the 1.5 L Ecoboost engine with 35k miles on it in October 2020. In December, I started having engine issues. First, it all started with Coolant mysteriously disappearing, then it started shaking/misfiring pretty bad during idle...and shortly after, Check Engine light came on. Took it to the dealer and was told that coolant was leaking into the the cylinders and short block would be replaced. Took about 3 weeks to get my Escape back. Well, one and a half months after the repair (shortblock replaced) the motor is now making a strange knocking noise and has a slight shake on idle. Will be taking it back to the dealer soon...

@@georgepaniagua6115 - Sherry may have a lemon, but even if not, the 1.5 is underpowered, if you can, get the Titanium with the 2.0, it's a 100hp difference and it's huge for this vehicle. Went from a 14 Fusion with a 2.0 to the Escape with a 1.5 and it took a lot of getting used to, passing on the freeway is sketchy, it has to rev to over 4k RPM to go from 65 to 75, my old Fusion would just fly by with minimal effort

Learned after 2 Priuses 1.5 1.8 motors suck u hv to drive like grandma no more than 70 mph on long trips or driving fast lol engines suck all will start having headgasket problems. Missing coolant.. yup it’s going into one of your cylinders.. there goes your headgasket.. no more small engines for me .. best car that lasted me from new 0 miles to 178,000 miles no problems only motor oil change. 2017 Toyota Camry regular 4 cylinder LE.. that 1 I would buy again In a heart beat.. had it for 6 years started up every time…

@@dreamercreep2124 The 2013 1.6 engines aren't any better... coolant issues all over the place, most recently a head gasket. A bottle of Bar's leak seems to have worked but I lost trust in it. Great car as far as comfort and rideability.. trans also a known issue It's a shame. The car deserved better engineering. The most expensive one I bought so far... not pleased. Dealerships are a joke.. wanted hundreds to replace a parking light bulb. My nephew did it in 10 minutes.. What is something like that ?

I am in the market for a first used car for my newly licensed son. Found a 2015 SE with a lot of good features and 128K miles. $7500 seemed like a bargain since RAV4 in that same range are like 15K +. Sadly, the reviews on the 2.0 Ecoboost engines are just unreliable and disappointing. So many cases of engines completely imploding because of coolant flooding the cylinders. You also can’t access the battery to change it easily or the coolant. I really wanted to buy 🇺🇸 buy dang man. Build a solid engine. Don’t over complicate it. There’s a reason why when I started looking on the road, I see or notice very few Ford SUV. Bummer.

I do wish I had a larger screen in my S trim escape but like 90 percent of the engine issues these experience are on those eco boost engines so I’m cool with a smaller screen if I get the less problematic Duratec engine.

I'm looking to get an Escape SE, and I love the touch screen and blind spot monitors, but they're not very common? Curious to know how to delineate that when searching!
@DriveRide
@DriveRide 3 жыл бұрын
Depending on the year of the Escape you’re looking at, it may have the Blindspot information system (or BLIS) which is Ford’s system with a little light icon on the side mirrors which illuminates when someone is in your blindspot. When it comes to looking for a used vehicle, unfortunately some dealers might not indicate that the vehicle has this feature if they don’t notice it. One way to tell if it has it is to look at the pictures and see if it has the little icon in the upper right hand corner of the mirror - otherwise if it’s not mentioned, you pretty much have to ask. Hope that helps! 🙂
