Thank you for this informative video. We are currently looking for furnished accommodation in Surabaya for a stay of 3 months, next year. Any suggestions on websites, except the ones already mentioned will be very much appreciated. Keep up the good work

Hi, thank you for letting us know our video has been helpful! If you are looking for a place for 3 months only then we would suggest going for AirBnb. There is a lot of choice for Surabaya, all fully furnished and the pictures are good to get an idea of what you are getting. You don't want to loose too much time looking around for a nice place once in Surabaya if you are only there for a short period. It took us a whole month to finally find a place in Bogor, especially one for just 1 year. Hope you find a nice place and enjoy your time in Surabaya! Cheers, Matt and Monico

I think the morning call to prayer is a good thing....If you ever visited Central Park in New York City...it's full of people around 5 AM in the morning, same thing in the parks in Los Angeles. I suppose people in big city like to wake up early.
@makethemove101

Hi Lugha, thank you for your comment! Yes, you are actually right....waking up early shouldn't not be considered as a bad thing. Early mornings are often the best moments of a day. Indonesia is in general a pretty noisy country, even in the rural areas. If it isn't the morning prayer, then you will be likely be woken up by the rooster crowing or the many dogs barking 😆. Have a good day! Matt and Monico

Plus when we were searching in a house in Bogor, we additionally used an agent ERA Indonesia, which was helpful as well. Thanks again for watching our video and checking out the comment sections. Great Vid ☺️Watching this after a trip travelling around Central & East Java, Lombok and Kalimantan. It was only 3 weeks and I already saw enough to know why so many people move there now. The Indonesian people, culture, food and nature is top tier! Indonesia instantly stole my heart 🥹 and had me crying during takeoff back home 😫✈️😂

Foreigners are not permitted to own property in Indonesia unless they have become citizens. Only renting for 1 year or more is allowed
@makethemove101
@makethemove101 9 ай бұрын
Hi thanks for your comment. Yes, generally speaking there is a minimal rental period of 1 or 2 years. But in areas where there is a high concentration of expats, the landlord can be more flexible. Perhaps the rent will not be per month, but more a minimal of 3 or 6 months. Are you renting or do you rent out places? Matt and Monico

are getting work visas for Indonesia hard to get? they dont allow dual citizenship.
@makethemove101
@makethemove101 11 ай бұрын
Hi, generally it is difficult to get a work visa unless a company employs you and arranges the visa for you. OR you have a specialization or type of work that can not be done by an Indonesian. The government just wants to 'protect' the local possibility to work of course. Unfortunately from our knowledge, they do not allow dual citizenship. We do know that children whose one parent is Indonesian and the other from another nationality are allowed dual citizenship until they are 18. Then they have to choose. Hope we were able to clarify things for you! Thanks for watching our video. Cheers. Matt and Monico

Yes looking back it was very cheap. We even had friends renting a place just USD1500 a year (min. 2 years and a smaller house). Bogor used to be less 'popular' considering Jakarta is around the corner. But now I heard it has become very busy so I can imagine, like everywhere, prices has gone up.

No we just rented it for 1 year. We loved living there. The garden was amazing and it was in a cul de sac/ dead end street so it was pretty quiet. We were very lucky to have found it. Do you have plans to move to Indonesia or are you there already?

I’m watching you and I’m half way through but a big question popped into my head. You mention ( fir example) 2.500 usd for a house for a year? Do you really mean 2,500 usd a month fir a year? It’s confusing. But enjoying the video.
@makethemove101
@makethemove101 11 ай бұрын
Hi, wonderful to hear that you are watching our video. In some cases housing rental is per year and can be USD2500 (yes, that cheap) but in other cases (mostly in Jakarta and Bali) the rent can be per month. And this can even be USD2500 a month. It all depends on the location in Jakarta or Bali plus the size of the house. Little houses in housing complexes can be USD3000 a year. So in our video, we might talk about monthly but also yearly rentals. Hope we were able to clarify it a bit! Thank you for commenting! Cheers! Matt and Monico

Hoi Nederlanders,waar kun je goedkoopst huren per maand voor 2 volwassenen en 1 kind in geheel Indonesië?
@makethemove101
@makethemove101 10 ай бұрын
Succes. @@makethemove101 Thank you, how can i get visa for 3-6 months as an european ?
@makethemove101
@makethemove101 Жыл бұрын
It is pretty easy to get a visa. All you need to do is go to the embassy website of your country, fill out the form for a B211 visa and pay. You will receive the visa through email. The B211 is valid for 60 days but can be extended up to 6 months in Indonesia. You can do it yourself at the immigration office there, or ask a visa agent to do it for you. We made a video on visas for Indonesia. It might give you more info on it kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ZtCKf5h8t7_QfKM.html Good luck!

If we become muslim as soon as we step on the land, surely foreigners will get rights immediately to buy house. Countries like INdonesia is very dodgy. Law of the Land would be Islam, wouldn't it?
@makethemove101

Well the law of the Islam do seem to dominate yes. But…luckily it doesn’t determine if you can purchase land or own something. At the end you have to hold an indonesian nationality. Cheers, Matt and Monico

@makethemove101

Yes, non-Indonesians are not allowed to own any property. We think it is meant to protect the real estate market for the local people. In a way it is understandable, but it is frustrating if you actually want to live in Indonesia long-term. As an expat, you don't have much security when living there.
