This has been tough for me and using Google trends has not helped too much in my niche. Or at least I am not doing a good job at finding them.

My channel is about cameras and gear...mostly about the EOS R, the 90D and the M50. I tend to show the results we can get from our cameras and lenses; many people focus on specs, numbers, pixels etc...I focus on the looks...For example, we know that 4k looks better than 1080...right? Well...not always: it depends on the camera, on the lens and most of all on what you need for a specific video....In brief...I come up with content ideas thinking about what we already know and take for granted (like...120fps is better than 60 for slow motion for example) and trying to actually see and show the results.

I think if you focus on improving, whether it's your editing skills, narration, thumbnails etc that's the secret. If you focus on just views and subscriptions, you'll drown in worry. Mistakes are how you learn.

KZfaq has a fantastic built in tool to help you with this as well. Here's a brief Tutorial: Go to your dashboard and click on analytics. At the top, click on the research tab. In the search box, type something like "how to" or whatever your niche is. Wait a second before hitting enter and a suggested list will pop up. Click on the search term you want to research and a list of related searches will appear sorted by current search volume. Now, here's the cool part. In the filters above the list, you can narrow down to specific languages and even countries if you want, but the best one is the first filter. The default is "All Searches". Click on that and change it to "Content Gaps Only" and apply. You now have a list showing search volume on specific topics that have a lack of content on KZfaq. A content gap means: Viewers can't find any results for their searches. Viewers can't find an exact match for their searches. Viewers can't find relevant videos for their searches, for example, the content is old or low quality. You can fill those gaps.
