The Andaman and Nicobar islands are by far one of the neglected regions of India!! and while most us only know them as a tourist destination, very few of us know that if utilized properly these islands can turn India into one of the most powerful nations in the world!! But in spite of being such a crucial part of India, just like the northeast, the govt of India has barely done anything to empower these islands and to use them to gain geopolitical advantage!! However, in 2015, the govt came out with a grand announcement to invest 10,000Cr into transforming the Andaman and Nicobar islands. This is expected to turn them into an economic engine as well as a critical military touchpoint!! and if executed as stated, it will be a historic upgrade in the Geopolitical power of India!!

Fun fact for today: Rajendra chola knew the strategic importance of Andaman and Nicobar islands, he conquered those islands n named them as “Nakkavaram”. He used those islands as his forward Naval base to project power in the Bay of Bengal n Indian Ocean. And when the Sri Vijaya empire( modern Indonesia) tried to undermine the cholas, Rajendra chola carried out a naval expedition from those islands n inflicted a crushing defeat on Indonesia n brought back its emperor as a war prisoner n then he installed a puppet king there n kept Indonesia, Malaysia, n other SE Asian countries under his sword so that without the blessing of the cholas no one can trade in our waters n hence the Bay of Bengal was called the “Lakes of Cholas”. He also knew the importance of Maldives to control the Indian Ocean n so he captured it too. These events happened in around 1030 CE. After 1000 yrs finally our Indian Govt has realised it now n started making plans for it. Imagine what India could have been If only we had learned from our own History.

@@siddyray3361 The old name of the Malaysian peninsula was Kadaaram(even now it’s called Kedah unofficially), After defeating the Indonesian empire he then went on and defeated the Tambralinga king (Malaysian king) to control the Malacca strait and took on the title of “Kadaaram Kondaan” meaning “The One who conquered Kadaaram”. The cholas were the only ones who were given the title of “ Imperial Cholas” because they introduced the modern concept of Imperialism in the 10th century AD. Imperialism is where a kingdom will control a far away country for the betterment of their own homeland like colonialism. Medieval Chola kingdom was a Imperial kingdom like British n French Empire in the 18th n 19th century.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose made it possible to include Andaman and Nicobar islands into the republic of India. ❤️🇮🇳 He was one of the most visionary personality of India.

@@AkashYadav0222 On 6 November 1943, Japan finally handed over Andaman and Nicobar Islands to India. The islands were passed to the government of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, who suggested back then to rename the Andaman island as ‘Shaheed’ and Nicobar island as ‘Swaraj’ Island respectively. Japanese did this because they were very much impressed by Mr. Bose's leadership and vidionary qualities.

We needed trio of Bose, Patel and Ambedkar handling nation post independence. Bose and Patel would have been terrific leaders for security and strategy. Bose needed no introduction to foreign leaders.

Well the projects that are initiated by govt. should be sustainable as andaman have Max no of National park and 96 wildlife sanctuary it comes under tropical evergreen forest we have lots of greenery so we don't want to loose that 🙏

I am from Andamans and it's true that we are strategically planned and we've been showing great growth since the independence of India. But from the past decade although the growth has been constant.. but we have also faced a horrific corrupted lieutenant governor named Jagdish Mukhi.. you won't find this in mainstream media.. but due to his corrupted activities in tender related to solar franchise and administrative tenders The pace of growth has been drastically effected... We really hope the international airport which is being under construction and is supposed to be ready by October (earlier deadline was june 2022) Will help us gain back the growth rate again.... As the tourism has been effected due to its construction and covid which is the main source of income for a huge group of people in Andaman . For which there hasn't been any support from the government.

Arunachal the state i live in is considered very important strategic wise but the infrastructure and importance given by the gov is almost nil and the worst part is most of my fellow indians ive met dont know Arunachal at all. This is because other States can take loans and grants from international agencies, while due to China keeping Arunachal as dispute,it cannot get international loans ,hence face trouble building big infra projects.

Andaman and Nicobar might not be inhabitable in a few years due to rise in sea level and increase in climatic events like cyclones caused by a rise in global warming. China is creating artificial islands. We must fortify the shores and make sure the islands survive and more lands reclaimed from the sea. Also China is the number one contributor to rise in global warming, Trump's trade war with China was beneficial for India, Hope Biden does the same.

Bangladeshis & Rohingyas infiltration in the Islands is created by some vested interest groups & is a political issue, needs to be addressed immediately. The demography of the islands are being changed by these activities off late in the islands.

Been to the areas where normally ppl don’t travel. We were only 3 on two of the most spectacular beaches. The water is so Crystal clear that it is similar to our drinking water. Deliberately not composting with Maldives. Found a shoe type coral which was too beautiful but was thrown away by security at airport.

I am from Andaman and Nicobar and what ever is mentioned in the video is true. Andaman is changing but pace of infrastructure development is slow, compared to mainland. Here it takes years to complete the "social impact study" which is like the first step for any project. I wonder if there is any committee here to conduct the study.

BUT.....what are it's implications for Environment of that region and are the Projects Economically Viable?? Govt wants to build a township there...to house around 6.5 Lakh people...will people from Mainland India move there to stay permanently?? That's a big question. They are absolute gems. Nitin Gadkari, Ajit Doval and S Jaishankar are the best and most hardworking people I've ever seen. They are doing their job so well and are not even getting any credit just because no one wants to talk about the progress they've brought in their respective fields. Medias don't cover them nor any influential person talks about them but they silently do their job very well.

The only and greatest problem here is that we have to do something to protect the great forests of Andaman and Nicobar Islands which are one of the important forests and are one of the few remaining biodiverse rainforests of India which have incredible biodiversity... We have to protect the forests of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and also northeast India's forests too..

As far as Geopolitics and Economic growth goes, please also talk about BBIM and BIMSTEC. And then the strategic linkage of BIMSTEC with ASEAN. Lastly, a train connection to Sri Lanka via Ram Setu would skew things in India's favor quite a bit.

@@anuragyadav0715 businesses depend on geopolitics and internal politics so being aware of the current events can also get you an insight as to how,which and why company grew, fell or bankrupted lol For eg:- because of OIC blocking the oil production in 2020 to until now due to russia-ukraine war oil prices have reached sky rocket high and because of this oil companies in india are green on stock market if you had knowledge of geo-politics you could have taken early decisions and not based on someone's else research and articles/news
