GSM codes before smart phones is nothing new, I remember checking signal this way 20 years ago. it’s just now they might launch an app then displaying a bunch of information most didn’t understand in the past. But you did get me thinking, the Apple Watch keypad doesn’t have * or #, and even if it’s saved as a contact it won’t show me signal strength. I wonder how to check the cell strength on the Apple Watch?

The 4636 menu is actually quite useful, at least to me. I live in Germany near the French border and I frequently go over there. My phone will by default always stick to the German cell service, even if it's an extremely poor connection. With this menu, I can force it to only allow LTE so it switches to the French network when there is no more German LTE (which is usually before I even reach the border - yeah, cell service is really bad here). There are also shortcut apps for this when you don't want to type it in every time.

Most of these codes generate the message USSD is running nothing else is shown. This is Android 8.1.0 on a Samsung J7phone. Any updates to the newer codes for Android 8.1.0?

I have Galaxy S9 model G960U1. my data network is LTE but voice network is CDMA 1XRTT. I have a feeling that’s the reason VOLTE does not work on my phone even though its enabled and Sprint is offering it. How do I change the voice network to LTE as well. Thanks.

Every android version has an easter egg wich shows up when you tap multiple times on your android version number in the settings. The code just opens the easter egg. So you can activate petmode in the settings too.

I know these by the name Gate commands, They arn't restricted to smart phones I've been using them since the 90's. We used to remember them by what they spelled out (for example simclock I remember being one)

I have a Rebel LG4 TracFone. Once I have sent a text message to someone, later on in the day I can I pull up the message I sent and hold my finger on the text. After a few seconds a sort of toolbar appears at the top of my screen with options and I touch a white "I" icon within a small black circle. This brings up a pop up screen that tells me my phone number, the phone number I sent the message to, then the next line reads "Status 65536" followed by the date and time I sent the message. I also have one message with all the same info but one line reads "Status 128" Any idea what those two status codes mean? I've searched and can't find an explanation so I thought I'd come here and check with the experts. Thanks.

I used to have a Galaxy S5 and I knew this one code that brought up this grid of icons with all sorts of tests.

There is one that puts the actual signal strength out instead of the bars in the top menu, but it’s been years, and I don’t remember it.

Hi, your very good looking, such nice eyes 😍 Ok here is my question. My LG phone seems ok. Until i try to connect the dots to log in. Its like ghost screen but weirder. The lines that connect the dots randomly move around to different dots. I have to move my finger slightly away from its naturally programmed path. Then as soon as it seems ok as most of my log in pattern is done, it wont register or let me connect the last dot to complete my pattern. Any ideas as to what that is? Pet mode doesn’t work on my Samsung S9 with Version 9 Australian user, using what you said and what you displayed? 3. You can however have a similar pet mode for Android phones only and every device is different by going to your software menu and keep tapping on Android Version ( just keep tapping on it ) your screen will change into your phones pet, and this pet changes with every update. Little Easter egg for you :)

So only one of the Android codes worked on my Samsung..not interested EXCEPT!!! let me take this opportunity to say that I am an older person who watched your video on how to increase the mbps on my new xfinity router...the April Fools vid. Hum...I was SO EXCITED to think I was going to circumvent the new service...I'm ignorant of any tech stuff so I was seriously hoping this would work because I purchased the cheapest Wi-Fi ( senior citizen on a VERY modest pension AND with a household full of grandkids who NEED this service for their school work. Something else I'm completely ignorant of). All set to drink me some bottled water and run to hardware store for tape when, at the end of video, a very disheartening APRIL FOOL popped up.
