this is the first time I have heard this song. there are no memories for me. the following is not directed at you, just a comment about music and society. Music seems to be in some time period. in people 's minds. just in society. Its just alive today and relevant today as it was in the time it was made. the bible was written over 2 thousand years ago.

100% agree with you. Today's Christian music has been taken over by the music industry and all the songs and singers sound the same. It's all been formulated. There's no real substance in it.

Used to have the chronology album with DVD. The DVD told their story!! They played this after saying the guitar player joined the band and it was like Eddie Van Halen had joined them!!😂😂

No other group comes closer to the real meaning of praise and worship to the lord almighty than any other group I know of, past and present. Their soulful, deep meaning lyrics and sound gives it all to the true meaning of worship. All their songs tackle various topics of all of our lives and make you want to fall to your knees. @Jay Royce I know I recently repented of my blasphemies and persecution of the Christian faith., I started praying to Christ for forgiveness and mercy, and a redirection of the intents of my heart and mind. I believe he's working in my life as we speak. Nearly 20 years of denying that Christ even existed as a human being has turned into daily prayer to that very person.

Following an example of a life without sin, learning to live my life loving anyone despite what they do to me or my friends, learning to be humble instead of arrogant and full of greed and lust and anger. The buddhists believe you have to separate yourself from your desires and be without desire, but christian people. We believe that if you do that you nevere truly live. At least this way, when I die I'll die believing my life meant something and that people loved me and I loved them,

not trying to get into religious battle with you but even Jesus in the text that he wrote if you have a Bible it's in red lettering Jesus said not to worship me stand up he wanted you to worship God first he was just an instrument of voice the hand of God he was there to touch people's souls in the teach them that there's something greater than us oh how he is greater than oh how much greater he is in a that's why it says our Father who out in heaven hallowed be thy name.

This song and video blew me away! This reads like a psalm. The video seems to be a metaphor for the desolate waste and darkness that consumes our world, and the darkness of the souls of the lost. But God's "Consuming Fire" can awaken our spirits, bringing us light and life in abundance, and burn away the corruptness of the world that we've stored within. He burns it away like wood over an intense flame.

Betty, I never get tired of 3rd day, especially when , Mac , during one of the concerts told the audience to pray, that the concert wasn't about 3rd day, or he himself, but the whole thing is to lift up Jesus and draw close to our God, Jesus Christ the righteous King. I love the way Mac's voice matured into the voice that God had already planned for it to be. The biggest and most important thing to occur was when Mac had conviction enough to not sell out to the music glorifying the world,or in other words Mac resisted the enemy, ( Satan).

The most defining song of ThIrd Day career they just signed with reunion records in 1995 and their debut album came out in the spring of 1996 consuming fire and adding Brad Avery in the band was a game changer this song was filmed at salt and Sea in California

These guys were so badass!!! This album is one of my all time favorites by anybody, any genre... Much Afraid by Jars if Clay is a fantastic Christian album too. But these guys, man oh man!!! Great gritty southern rock with a great message of love and truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KILLER BAND!!!!! KILLER ALBUM!!!!!

We should be His vessel to have the consuming fire. I prayed at the age of 18 for many years to be God's vessel. Ezekiel chapter 3 talks about the spirit entered into him. He received God's spirit. Things start happening trust me. It's a wonderful thing. Let God do that new thing with you and in your life. God bless you. This is truly a great song. It brings joy abundantly to my heart. I remember listening to this tape over and over and over while we painted the inside of our home 20 years ago. MId-90s was a great time for contemporary Christian music: Supertones, Jars of Clay, INsyderz, Magnified Plaid, Five Iron Frenzy all still worth listening to to-day. Blessed be God forever!

Ephesians 2:8-10 I understand that Christians should be letting God work through them, because there is a world out there that needs His power. But, it is important to realize that it is not our works that save people, it is the grace of God. We shouldn't try to do good works out of our own effort, but we need to allow God to flow through us.

Yep, my God ( The God of the Bible) is a Consuming Fire, destroying the disobedient forever! He pleads with them to repent but if they don't turn from loving evil rather than loving Him and people, He has to put them away forever. Only Jesus saves!
