These trials are so good, but SO difficult! I'm back with some more Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike and this time I struggle with Dudley and Alex's trials. Let's see how I do with these trials and who knows, maybe I'll do the rest of them. Have you tried these trials yet?

The last couple active frames of Alex's hk actually add 3 to the juggle counter instead of the earlier frames which add 1. So to do the last Alex combo you have to hit a very small window with the first hk where it's high enough to get the juggle but not to late into the active frames that you get the extra 2 added to the juggle counter. Very tricky trail

What is the problem if you get +3 juggle? The rest of the combo is on the ground?

@@RandoBox there are 2 hks in that combo, if you mess up the first one you cant juggle with the second one.

The first combo you did where you blocked Ryu's crouching medium into tatsu you were blocking low and gaining your charge for the elbow, then when Ryu went over your head it's like you pressed for forward to give you your charge for the move.

This is fan made, 3s doesn’t have combo trials. I’d recommend anyone to learn combos on older games like 3S or the Alpha series (or whatever old anime fg if you like) bc of how low the hitstun and timing window is. Most of these games are 1-2 frame windows and both have links & chains, so the strictness will help you learn how to combo properly, understand frame data develop quick timing & reactions, and make sure you have clean inputs. So when you play more modern fighting games, combos will be a breeze since the window timing and input reads are generally very forgiving. Btw, if you don’t like the really “older” games, SFIV, KOF XIII, Xrd etc are great to learn on too for the same reasons and they have trials.

I wish there was fan made trials in this same level for other games like the Vs games including CvS, Jojo, classic KOFs, RBFF series, MOTW, UMK3, etc.

01:35 - Charges are a meter bar that keeps recharging combined with a tics bar (of 1 second), after you charge you need to release and finish the move in the same tic.. since the tic is one second, it is possible to swap sides and still complete move in the same tic (it will be very necessary in other trials, haha)... Noob pro tip: you can see this charge/tic bar enabling assist (enter the trials select screen and press SP+SK to enable/disable).

I used to be a decent 3s player…. (old videos up on TheShend under like o like h chun li/ryu and Pink Sean TM) but I could never get the achievement for the trials. I ultimately accepted I was never going to be more than decent at Third Strike so I stopped playing like a decade ago and haven’t played SF since other than for a few hours each on 4 and 5. However.. I do plan on devoting my gaming time to SF6 upon release, as I do miss competitive SF. Love your content J Wong! (I don’t agree with Max about erasing Chun from Third Strike btw 😂)

1:38 is kinda like charge partitioning: the elbow slash gets reversed/auto-corrected, I think. It’s like when you do a duck X super under a jumping character w/ Dudley 😝 so the charge is stored.

super late i know, but i think that dudley combo where you were koing akuma you're supposed to wait so your taunt can hit which would scale the rest of the combo more so you dont have to do the post ko hits

I never really performed any combos when I first startted 3rd Strike as a kid. I didn't know how to do combos. And parrying was a whole different thing. Now, with the knowledge I have, I can't play 3S the same way. Better grades on those result screens now. XD

The Dudley trials had me dying bruh. Those frame counts are never consistent in the hit string. I had to buy a metronome to practice the timings. Dudley is so off beat. xD
