One of the largest European conflicts in history is the widely known Thirty Years' War, a conflict that unbeknownst to most people spanned the entire globe with the continuous Dutch-Portuguese and Eight Years' Wars, from Nova Scotia to Taiwan, this video includes many other conflicts including the English Civil War (Otherwise known as the War of the Three Kingdoms), The Piedmontese Civil War, the Portuguese Restoration War, and many more!

Wars of the Austrian and Spanish successions in the first half of the 18th century were also fought in colonies, so they could be considered "world wars" too.

It could almost be considered the first world war as Africa, the Americas and Oceania all were colonies or involved. Asia was skipped by this one i believe, though i'm not entirely sure. Destruction wise, what is now considered Germany lost about a third of it's population.

Vladimir Kauffman sweden hasnt been at war for just as long as switzerland does but we remember sweden as a badass fighting country and switzerland as the neutral one (probably cuz of sweden kinda kot all that neutral in both world wars)

It was not Taiwan or Taiwanese. It was Formosa, a VOC's colony with Ming Dynasty.

@@afdalridwan3813 Well, Taiwan was only a colony for about 50 years, it didn't last. Japan was a colony for a bit too, technically. After WW2 it was occupied by the USA for about 10 years. Turkey was partly occupied for a few years after WW1. And Iran was invaded many times.

In absolute numbers of that war can be less than WW1 or WW2, but when we look to the consequences, the Thirty years war change more the world than WW2 (not more than WW1) because that war change the protagonists, the Habsburgs fell from the Europe's only Superpower as countries such France, Sweden and Netherlands start compete with they

While a very detailed, and very though job, the smaller maps need some labelling. Going clockwise, next to the date 12:00 we have Taiwan/China, then 1:00 a later Indochina, then 2:00 an UNKNOWN relating to Portugal, then 3:00 Malaya/Sumatra, then 4:00 W Africa, and at the bottom 6:00 the strait of Hormuz, with India/Ceylon in the middle, then 7:00 another UNKNOWN Spanish area (which has no point/no change), then 8:00 a teeny Americas, and lastly at 9:00 Central Africa. Q1: why did you add the 7:00 UNKNOWN Spanish which never changes, and Q2 why make the 8:00 Americas so teeny and so hard to see?

Nah the reason France is by itself is because it was fighting its own protestants back home, the Protestants fought alone at first and were losing badly in the first few years, but thanks to french Sweden was brought in giving them respite until France could take over Sweden once it joined the war as the main contributor to everyone's W because it distracted the most dangerous foe of the war. @@HurricaneHunter03 UK bought US weapon in WW2 from 1940. But US not join Allies until Pearl Habor. Thus, the Vietnam not join the war because there was no political declaration of Vietnamese lords about participating the war. This video is false.
