My family bought a used 2 door 79 Caprice Classic In 1982. it was beautiful. it was black on top of Gray with red interior. I used to lay in that back window when we traveled places. LOL those were the days when parents didn't give a s***. It had a CB radio and an 8-track player. My parents handed it down to my sister to drive as her first car. she tore the s*** out of that thing. side door got all bashed in. her boyfriend removed the CB and radio. intyerior was messede up. She Blew the transmission in it so she parked it out front of our house. Then when I turned 16 in 89, It became my first car. It hadn't started for probably 4 years. all my dad and I did was put a new battery on it and turned the key. after a couple revs and a big cloud of smoke she was running again. with a little tick tick tick tick from a lifter. I got the transmission fixed And she became mine. I loved it! It was a beast. I drove my whole baseball travel team, 12 people to games a couple of times. It was tight but surprisingly not bad. Sadly, I had to give it up after I became paralyzed from the chest down after a work related accident when i was 18. I was saving up money to begin restoration. I sold it to a guy that was going to restore it but I have no clue if you ever did. I'm hoping it didn't end up in a crash up Derby like so many other Caprices from that era. If she did I know for a fact she was a winner. tough old broad. nothing to take her down. thanks for your dedication to Caprices.
