I wouldn't take any other engine through a desert type scenario. 180 litres of diesel and so much room to carry everything you need. The ultimate touring 4wd ever made. Awesome example. My 80s series has a 1hz with over 400,000km on the clock and she purrs like a kitten. Blows no smoke and reliable asf.

Same with my 80 at 404,000kms, only thing is it needs a good warm up in the morning but after that runs great

The UN and ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross) still uses 70 Series Land Cruisers for humanitarian missions. My country's Red Cross have a fleet of this vehicles, spread out among local chapters (usually one vehicle per chapter).

It’s bad on sharply corrugated roads here in Australia but surprisingly smooth and quiet on more rolling bumps. A lot depends on your road speed and weight you’re carrying, tyre pressure etc. The air-con is better than my newer cars. I have the standard spec of this model with 340k km on the clock. I get offers all the time to buy it. I kinda love that it’ll still be serving someone when I’m dead and buried.

It sold mate. I know that here in Oz that one with that many kms and in such good condition is selling for about $60k (AUD). It’s a dream car now.

Free wheeling hubs are not as great as they claim to be. Fuel consumption is only effective over 500km's. The lubrication system is compromised if the hubs aren't engaged...
