Don’t care about the brands but a rod and reel will never be worth 2,000+ dollars no matter what you do it to me just my opinion it’s a beautiful rod and reel tho just never worth the money in my book

@jandhtackle would need a lifetime warranty to be worth it for me. I would buy and manage to catch it in tailgate out in parking lot. Does sound nice though.

@@charlesmartin1262 My buddy has that rod, and it’s an elephant trunk! You could probably pull a truck with it. Only problem he’s got with it is any fish less than 6” doesn’t seem to register. He doesn’t know he’s even got a fish on until he reels in to check his bait 😆

@@charlesmartin1262 Ugly sticks definitely get people on the water but for what they cost these days you can certainly get a much more ergonomic and lighter setup. Ugly sticks are just so heavy and cumbersome. Their reels are overpriced as well for what the market offers. Dollar for dollar, I believe Daiwa is where it’s at for rods and reels these days. For what it’s worth, I sell a ton of both.

@@Iliketocheat. Nothing can overcome time. Everything wears out. What I’d expect for a $2,000 reel is lifetime support and parts availability direct from the manufacturer.

If you have the money to spend and fishing Is your main hobby…. Why wouldn’t you buy it? It’s the best of the best and makes fishing more enjoyable with a lighter setup you can fish lures with all day

I work in a fairly well known family owned outdoor store in Michigan. Within the last 2 weeks I’ve sold over $2,500 worth of musky gear to a lawyer that “just felt like getting into it”. He came in knowing pretty much what he wanted, I helped him narrow down some choices, and he left a very happy customer. Super cool dude too. People that have real money don’t look at price tags. They just enjoy life. Having said that, I also sell A LOT of $40 combos. And you know the funny thing? Both of those customers are having fun fishing and that’s all that matters. Fishing is for everyone and fortunately the industry has everyone’s budget covered. Nothing wrong with using high-end gear. Nothing wrong with using low-end gear. Don’t worry about what other guys are doing. Just go fishing dude
