Just go ahead and pronounce it *Stay* Green.. that's what the employees at Lowe's call it. :) They also have a new synthetic under Sta-Green that has humic and kelp. I LOVE IT!

I see you're using a handheld spreader to spread the Sta Green fertilizer. What setting did you set the spreader? I have a Scotts EdgeGuard which according to the bag is set on 6. The bag doesn't list a setting for a hand held rotary spreader, I use a Scotts HandyGreen II. Do you know the setting I have 400 sq ft of lawn and the bag is good for 4000 sq ft.

Happy 4th George! I just spotted the Sta-Green when I was picking up some of the Lesco fert that was on deep sale. Can't beat the Sta-Green price especially if it performs well. I'm a firm believer in Humic, biochar and kelp- it takes probably 6-8 wks, and you'll notice that your lawn just looks vibrant and healthy, especially when if the early season enthusiasm inputs are backed off. And when everyone else's is struggling during a drought, yours will stay green and dormant. I had a brand new lawn that stayed dark green well into January while here in NJ, probably because of my ongoing amendments into the soil last summer.

Having Humic in it is the biggest plus to me. I put 2 bags of Humic DG on over all of last year but didn't see much for results; until this spring. Fast green up and the soil was just, well, fluffy. Holds water much better than ever before and it's a sandy soil. During the dry hot June we had I didn't have to water that much to keep it green, you really can't have too much humic. I'll pick up a bag and try it out.

I been using sea Kelp for years in my garden, it really makes a difference on drought tolerance.. I used Milorganite and banded it in corn rows along with other synthetic fert, the corn looks amazing!.. In the past, I was using Weaver lawn fert and triple 13 in equal amounts on the lawn because Milo was just tooo expensive. The lawn looks great using more Phosphorus and Potash with lower inputs of N.. good to know the Sta-Green fert has comparable ingredients to the Next products. I been using the Sta-Green tall Fescue turf seed, I really like the darker green color.

Typically, Milogranite does a good job! Did you use the right amount accordingly to the size of your lawn, and is the soil compacted that's preventing the nutrients to absorb into the soil? Check your soil! You may need to dethatch and aerate your lawn.

I live in New Jersey, and the local municipality makes a product that is equal to milorganite for 799 a bag called Ocean Grow They currently use this in addition to the private fertilizing guy that I use. I also spray see kelp humic acid in super thrive from the heat stress video from silver symbol. Should I stop using morganite?

Thanks for letting me know about this new option. I respectfully slightly disagree with a couple of things, though: 1) The best way to determine if you should or should not be putting down Phosphorous or Potassium is with a soil test. Which leads me to: 2) My soil (North Georgia) is actually fine on Potassium. What I'm actually lacking is Phosphorous. 3) You may actually find that any given fertilizer has trace amounts of lead and/or arsenic. 4) I have no issues with Milorganite being made from biowaste. It's actually digested by microorganisms, so it's not really like spreading manure on your lawn (even though plenty of gardeners use raw manure in their flower beds). It ends up being rich in carbon.

It's because it used to cost like $8 or $10 per bag over 5-10 years ago. It was super cheap for the performance. They probably can't manage their costs, so it's priced the same as regular fertilizer now, if it's applied at their recommended heavy rate.

Same thing happened to me! Had NEVER had an issue with fungus until 2018, first year of doing Milorganite. 2018 and 2019 my lawn was destroyed, and I basically had to renovate it. It turned nuclear orange. Also, that's the first year I was using the lawn striper. I've ditched that as well.

Every time i would water along the sidewalk since my yard slopes down to it the water would just run off the grass and down the road. After using a lot of this stuff the water now just soaks into the ground. I saw the lawn amateur on KZfaq using 32 ounces of humic on his yard ive started using 10oz of each on mine its starting to look even better my front yard is about 1250 square feet.

I found sta green a couple of weeks ago and I can't wait to try it (been using more expensive stuff). The ingredients look great. I also have the same hand spreader as you - what product setting do you associate with on the fertilizer specified settings? I tried to get Scotts to respond but they weren't any help.

Hi George! Seeing your channel 1st time but I just also sub'd. I live near Houston, TX, and have San Augustine grass here. I'm really having issues with the grass plant leaves turning yellow in spots. Could I have a potassium deficiency? And if so, Milorganite won't solve it? Just bought my 1st bag of Milorganite to use, ever, but I think now I will switch to the Sta-Green. Love your channel, as my lawn and flower beds are a huge part of my life. Thanks for all he helpful ad5vice & suggestions. I will be watching your older videos , so I can catch up!

Hello friend! thank you so much for the sub also thank you for explaining to me what the pfas chemicals are as far as the yellowing goes... i would have a soil test done to see what, if any deficiencies you may have

Thanks for all the info on the new fertilizer. My soil is lacking in Phosphorous so is a requirement for me and Hosta growers like using Milorganite because it helps with deer pressure.

Was struggling with irrigation this year. Lack of rain got my lawn dormant. This fall I want to dethatch and overseed. Hopefully get a beautiful lawn that stands out from the rest of my neighbors. Currently stands out since I’ve moved in because the previous home owners didn’t take care of the lawn. But being a beginner at this I’m not sure what grass types I currently have. I know I have KBG and Tall Fescue but there are other grasses I’m seeing that I cannot identify.

Yup, I usually buy 5 bags of Milo, this year only 1. Goodbye Milorganite. And since my soil test says I don't need phosphorus StaGreen is the Go To now. Thanks George! I was about to buy Humic Acid too.

Now I am heading to Lowe's to purchase a bag of "Sta-Green"! Trying to obtain MILOGRANITE has been a Challange in my Western Washington State region for the past 5 years, I am just hoping that the "Sta-Green" lives up to y'all's reviews...

Milogranite is plentiful here in Toledo. All the Home Improvement stores have it in stock, even Walmart. Have you thought about ordering it from Amazon?

Good stuff will have to try it. Humic I used, results take a while to appreciate, not a 2-3 day thing. One day you'll notice lawn is looking strong, and have that ah ha moment. Kelp, I've used on flowers, they like it, healthier and stronger, fit you could say.

I got off the milorganite train two years ago after getting my first test results back. My phosphorus levels were sky rocket high. There’s only one benefit to using it and that’s that it helps you get used to spreading fertilizer without the fear of burning your lawn, however, it’s not a long term product.

Awesome video!! I have a few question please and thank you…. I’m tired of using Scott’s and no results!! When do you apply this fertilizer? I’m trying to find a monthly/ yearly schedule on how to to apply the fertilizers in what months? Also which Sta-Green fertilizers to use like when you have crabgrass? Thank you

Great video, I would also add that the Milorganite covers 2,500 sf. per bag where the Sta-Green covers 5,000 for about the same money.

Thats a plus for sure, but the amount of Humic Acid is pointless. I believe 0.6%? Probably just a way to capture the end consumer by mentioning Sea Kelp and Humic

Would this work as a winterizer? I am in Dallas TX and our winter starts around early to mid December. Or should I apply the Sta-Green Natural Fertilizer now and do a seperate winterizer in early November?
