There's another tech review streamer who reviewed this product and dismissed it entirely based on its out of the box settings. I'm glad I found this video only cuz I didn't know you could adjust ur cam settings like that in SL and with such a budget piece. Thanks so much dude, you deserve the like and sub.

@@TechAuditTV for some reason, when I edit the camera properties on stream labs and open up another tab (camera, zoom) and go back, the exposure get set back to auto

OBS is the hero for this type of cameras ! I do the same trick with the Loetad-cam where i paid just 16€ for the manual-focus-version. BTW - you missed the best part of this trick: If you use such a cam in zoom or a similar meeting-tool it may not work for OBS at the same time, but you can go to the camera-settings anyway and adjust the cam. It shows no image in OBS then but in Zoom and you see that is set up as you want it - with the setting-dialog which was opened from OBS.

I found a repo from a guy who made a script to open the settings dialog directly from windows, gonna try that out when the cam arrives :D

Does the adjustment stays active? Does it work in zoom meetings???

@@edsoncampos8947 the camera will stay adjusted as long as it is on. And yes it does not matter in which program you use the camera. I've used this with zoom, MS-Teams and discord. But there is nothing that saves the setting. The next time you start your PC you have to adjust it again. @kiejso i've seen that too, but there was some money requested.

@@MindfulSapient as i said i use a cam from LOETAD, which is a very similar cheap one. This class of cameras can be quite good for dayly meetings or other usual purposes when using the hidden settings as i told. It can be ok for eventually upload something on YT. But it is a cheap cam anyways. For driving a regular YT-channel or regular streaming you should use something better with bigger sensor, better lenses and of course having a good light-setup around it.

I've just ordered this Aukey for £17 ($21) and it's arriving next week. This is really going to help get my YT channel off the ground. Thanks man! EDIT: The Aukey arrived and after following the steps in your video I can confirm that it's awesome! I sent a test video to some friends and they all thought I was using the more expensive brand camera. Next I'm going to try out that $50 Depstech one from your other video. Really nice review and great tips on how to use OBS to get the best out of your webcam!! I think with the wider angle cameras it would have been nice to show how you can crop the image to not include the background if you don't want it in your image while still keeping the HD resolution as there is no zoom feature available with the more budget friendly webcams.

I don't care a lot of the additional features so this works perfect for me. Not expecting anything amazing for a $25 dollar camera, but the picture quality looks good for such a low end camera. It honestly looks like a $60 camera in terms of quality.

@@MindfulSapient know im many months late but using it on a low power usb 1 port it lagged glitched and froze constantly, changed to usb 3.0 and its flawless and looks natural and warm and fits my stream perfectly

@@MindfulSapient I bought it and it works well, although the lighting to the skin is a bit off, so its not a perfect camera. You need to have basically perfect lighting in your room for it to work well. I'm actually looking into a Sony camera to upgrade it.

Do you know how this compares vs getting a hdmi capture card (to connect the cellphone and use it as a webcam) and if it supports obs tuning? (like you did with this camera)
