There are too many complaints about how this is so much more "commercial" than other houses Bryce usually shows. I felt a little bit of lack too, but it isn't the house itself, it's because Bryce usually shows homes that are inhabited. In fact many houses he shows are just as large as this (or close), just as expensive, and are built by a professional rather than by the owner. The real reason most of Bryce's other videos feel more satisfying is that there is no owner interview in this one. It feels more personal when we get to "meet" the residents, see their finishing touches, and hear from them how the home works daily. This particular house is still a sleeping beauty waiting to be awakened by its resident(s). It isn't fair to hate on this house or its builder or its owner. Apparently the owner wasn't available and Bryce felt the builder deserved to be heard, which is true. This video is still worth watching and still gets my like.

I think the builder has got it right, this is definitely one for the older folks looking to downsize. It's got all the convenience and ease of access while keeping the size small enough to require little maintenance. Not to mention at 96k most millennials like myself can't afford this without going further in debt. It's a nice house for a different market, could definitely see my parents downsizing into one of these.

This is by far the best mobile home I have seen, and it's affordable. I'm a millennial and tall, this size and design is perfect. Not to mention the workmanship is clean cut. He explains what he does, why he does it, and who he collaborates with. All in 7 min. Great Vid!

This is so lovely. If a government took over a tiny house project to provide housing for the homeless in a country like India (where I currently live), they could definitely put a dent in the number of homeless on the street. On a brighter note, I am totally going to build a tiny house like this for my parents when they retire and put it behind my house :)

I just loved this house. I'm so glad you addressed the baby boomers. I know for me the ladders and steep stairs scared me away from Tiny Houses, but this larger home is just beautiful. I really love everything about this house, its just beautiful

I think it’s about choice. The person who commissioned this home, wanted this home. It’s about enjoying life and who are we to criticise?!

Seriously the amount of people complaining about different things within the house. If if was yours, you get to choose what goes where. And the _oh, it's not a real tiny house but a bastardization of one_ People have different tastes and different needs. In the end it fits into the category of a tiny house. The beauty of any tiny house is that you make it your own. A smaller footprint is still a smaller footprint. This could easily be a second house on a private block or your only house where ever you want it to be. At $96k US (approx $130k AUD) that is a third of a cheapest avg house price in the cheapest city in Australia. That is truly a downsizing. Plenty of people own land just by itself that they are up to renting to owners of tiny houses. Options options options As always Bryce, thank you for sharing mate.

this is exactly what i am planning to build. pricing out 40 foot trailers at the moment. likely tear down an old caravan. but i like the idea of steel construction to save weight. i will now look more into that.

LOVING the 'normal staircase' and the hanging-clothes bars which flank it. I'd convert that bookcase into a shallow cab (tees, undies, purses, etc) to maximize storage as this is the HARDEST part of TinyHouse living --where to put your clothes! Also LOVING 60" space for shower or full-size tub (jacuzzi? clawfoot?). And LOVING 6'7" headroom in the sleeping loft, wow! I'd add a fold-up deck to cap off this beauty. This design is very livable! If I did a tiny house or tiny home, it would be something like this one! Love it! I need the full size bedroom. But for me, my bedroom kind of doubles as my living room. I just love that space. And the idea of building on top of the gooseneck is perfect. And totally agree about the stability of transporting with a gooseneck versus another type of fifth wheel. Super smart!

Gorgeous inside! So spacious! Love the dark wood, light colored walls & ceiling contrast! Fabulous bedroom! And love the bathroom, with the seat in the shower! If you live in a tiny home into your older age, you really need to think about things like that!

This is really beautiful! Even though I'm a shortie, I like a lofty ceiling above my head, too. The only little thing I'd alter would be to put some kind of door over the washer-dryer so you can hide it away when not in use.

Quality should be the first consideration of any purchase. I would absolutely go for this one.

Was super excited to see Bryce talking with the Tiny House Chattanooga guys. There are so many different companies in North America that are taking this tiny house movement and providing variety and a level of craftsmanship that is unexpected. Lots of North American (especially Canadian) tiny home companies take in to mind things the average diy home builder over look (i.e moisture/mold prevention) that are incorporated in their design. This "tiny mansion" is anything but tiny, but it appears to provide all the comforts one thinks of when you think of a home. Thank you for the videos!

Did they say the bedroom is 6'7 ? Glad they considered a different twist on the ceiling height for the bedroom. First one I've seen to have a taller height .

It is so interesting to watch this video again with Bryce meeting Mike Bledsole from TinyHouseChattanooga and eventually asking Mike to build the THOW that he and his partner use to travel around the various countries making their 'Living Big in a Tiny House' videos. I love this house, the steel framing, and the quality built into it. While I would want a home all on one level with no lofts, the way that this one is designed is great. I also love the two doors in the building so safety as well as convenience. While I would want one that is more in the 38 foot range as a single person, this one for retired or retiring Boomers, is perfect.

Love the house. NO compost toilet! And no cheap, plastic sides on tub, no molded tub!

The builder in this really sounds like he knows his stuff and I liked the level of thought that clearly went into the design (such as his thoughts on the different preferences and requirements of the younger and older generations). Plus all the ticks in the steel frame column (lighter, more travel robust) and the stability of goose neck trailers travel wise.

This is a tiny house that seems within reason. I don't care for the decor and window layout, but the overall layout is nice, and the lack of crawling and ladder climbing makes this a real home.

My first reaction to seeing this trend towards larger tiny houses was that it was ridiculous. Can they even be called tiny houses when they are that big? Is anything a tiny house as long as it is on wheels? But then I started looking at it from the perspective of anything smallish is better for the planet. Yes, homes like this seem huge, but they are much smaller than the average "regular" home and most times use alternative approaches to power and waste disposal. They also allow larger families to be able to embrace the tiny lifestyle. So, with a smaller footprint and less consumption of finite natural resources, homes like these definitely have their place in the tiny house movement.

Thank you for featuring this home on your channel. I can see in the comments below a very divergent set of viewers. There are those who find the style (and price) of this sort of build a good option, and then there are those who seem to find it a bit offensive to the fundamental origins of the tiny home due to the size and cost. I rather see its existence as a natural occurrence in the development and growth of the movement. All humans require shelter to live. Those with more time and/or skill, but less financial options would of course be among the first to find value in the minimalism and focus on repurposing goods that is somewhat central to the tiny house movement. Those with environmental concerns or travel requirements after discovering tiny homes would naturally find value the option of a smaller more mobile footprint. And, this secondary interest would frequently include many individuals of a slightly more fortunate socioeconomic status. The greater overall popularity would bring the attention of many with more wide ranging needs and goals for their home. Diversity of options would grow beyond the originally declared ideals and needs of the the movements originators. But, that is a blessing in my mind because I would never take the time or build the skills necessary to create my own tiny home. Instead, I would save up my money and pay the sometimes excessive price to have experts design and build the exact 'tiny' home I desire. ... And, I have to say, this builder really got my attention with his comment about importance of structural integrity when the home is going to be driven around. I have totally wondered about that after seeing so many self-designed and executed homes. Pot holes and the vibrations of the road will bounce the appliances, wiring, plumbing, and such leading to all kinds of potential damage or even dangers. This is even more true when a lack of codes and regulations leads people to innovate without consideration to the risks.

since a gooseneck is attached in the bed, the anchor point sits at front of the rear axle of the truck... it surely makes the driving more stable

By far best design I've seen at this size. If you are going for this type of home you no doubt will have to change your lifestyle. When I was a kid I actually lived in a mobile trailer for over a year in a hell of lot less space than this baby. You live with less but have less to clean, less clutter, it forces you to get out of your damn house! lol. Wherever you decide to land you gotta check out the codes of that county. A "tiny house" can be stayed in for several days but not lived in. Most towns in the US want you to secure the unit to the ground, have access to at least water and septic. In some small towns they have a community well. It's the grey water they worry about not your compost toilet. Up in Okanogan county Washington State they actually have a roof requirement of 65 pounds per square foot. Know why? Because of the heavy snow and ice. A foot of ice on your roof can weigh 57 pounds. So the steel frame makes alot of sense. The builder is right. It's a vehicle first then a house. Try moving a wooden frame house 3000 miles across country without damaging it or throw the door frames ect out of wack. What I like is you have flexibility. If you have to get out of dodge just move your house. If you got a big property you could move it around if need be. Build it somewhere else though and use cheaper materials and you could bring down some of that initial cost.

I've been looking into retirement options for my mom who's been renting the past 15 years and this layout might be what she'd go for. I've encouraged her to be more of a minimalist and pair down her belongings just as I have, so I think that the $96K price tag may convince her to settle for a smaller, more affordable space. She also wants to just park it on a plot of land near town, so full time livability might pull her in this direction of larger goose-neck trailers as well. As a side note, I wonder why more tiny home builders don't use steel frames...? Perhaps it's that price tag...

I think his use of dark wood adds to the richness of the house. I was dubious to begin with thinking the dark wood may make it feel small but in fact it had the opposite effect. Loved it!

I like the layout of this gooseneck trailer. I'm not a fan of closed quarters when it comes to my bed area. The builder left many options for customer to do there own thing while covering the basics. Put this on a lake front property and I'd be set.

Really lovely. I love the crisp white against the dark wood. It looks incredibly spacious. As a young baby-boomer, I can see this being much more comfortable... on my knees and as a woman, I love all the storage in the bedroom!

Three issues: #1 Limits the type of haul vehicle. #2 can't use a topper on truck either. #3 the increased ratio of exposure /reduced insulation the gooseneck area gets. Really great ideas.

Yes this is a tiny house. The sq ft is under 400 so it's technically tiny. This is an amazing TH and I really like this builder. They are doing innovating things in the TH world. The thing I love about Bryce is he welcomes all TH walks of life. You get everything from this 'mansion' to the tiny hut with no modern conveniences covered. Great show, and I really liked this episode too.

My husband is 6’6” and we have been searching for our retirement solution. We don’t want a mortgage and want to travel between our kids houses but also want a semi permanent place to call our own. We had decided we couldn’t do a tiny house only because of physical limitations, I.e. his height, my bad back is not crawling! Lol. But THIS tiny house is a game changer! THIS we could do! Thank you for showing this one! Tiny houses are back to being considered!

Finally, a bedroom with some stand up room and access around three sides of the bed without almost falling out of the loft. No walking on your knees to make the bed. No storing things in open bins. No one has to crawl over the other to get out of the bed if they need to. Another nice thing are the stairs up to the bedroom, actual normal stairs! No stupid ladder, no incredibly high risers, just normal sized steps that just about any one can use. A real sized sink in the kitchen, very nice! It has decent counter space, always a plus. More outlets than my kitchen has. Not a bad design.

It's funny when I hear the phrase "baby boomers" because it was almost a 20 year time frame. Both myself and my mother are BBers. She was born in January 1946 and I was born November 1964. She was a college freshman when she married my father, who had already graduated from the University. I am an avid hiker and I don't mind climbing ladders or stairs (I've done some impromptu rock climbing). But I do see many of my cohorts already becoming decrepit, as if hitting 50 meant it was OK to let yourself go. I do see the prudence for purchasing a tiny home without ladders or stairs, with an eye towards the future. Fibromyalgia and RA are all over my family, and I'm having symptoms. I never realized how much more stable and the easier movability of a built over gooseneck would be, and solidarity of a steel frame in a tiny house. How many years would this hold up? Thank you very much, I love this style.

I love that you do not have to bend or crawl to get into the bedroom. Like the gentleman was saying, as you age ladders and crawl spaces become harder, if not impossible, for some to manage. It accommodates older generations or those with disabilities and creates the ability to live comfortably. I like inclusion this one is a super smart design. Where I am, Toronto, you can't buy a one bedroom condo for under $100 000.00.And then you get stuck with high monthly fees. So,yeah, this is an attractive option.
