Today we take on a giant burrito challenge called the "Fat Ass", seriously a child sized burrito! However, this is supposed to be a "5lb burrito", filled with carne asada (grilled beef), lettuce, tomato, guacamole, cheese, sour cream, and about 35 kinds of mayo based sauces made by the restaurant. We are in San Diego California For this huge burrito eating challenge we had only 15 minutes in order to get the meal for free, otherwise we would be paying for the $40 burrito! This "Fat Ass" burrito was never defeated (undefeated) in front of the restaurant staff there at the time of filmed! Can we eat this unbeaten burrito challenge, or will this undefeated food challenge beat us? Tune in for this California food challenge!

Funny how some of these restaurant managers and owners do not understand the concept of free advertising. Instead, they just make themselves look like dicks…. It’s like they somehow think by beating the challenge and that you are trying to get one over on them. So instead of being inviting and warm they try to make it impossible for you to accomplish and act super defensive the whole time. It’s extremely dishonest, shady, and overall not good for business

The only way to set Joel to fail was to make it a 20lb burrito. Anything around 5-12lb is basically a snack. 12-16lb is a light meal. 16-20lb is a good dinner.

Not that I would ever do a food challenge but if I saw him being scammed by a local restaurant, i would not go there. Plain and simple. But if you advertise a 5 lb burrito challenge, I'd think it would be wise and professional to have a scale capable of weighing it out to be fair. It's very clear this restaurant set this challenge up to get free money. And when someone actually capable of completing the challenge showed up, they showed their asses and tried to ensure he would fail. I'm so sick of restaurants making these unrealistic challenges.

I don't understand why restaurants do this. That burrito was DEFINITELY not 5 pounds. It was probably closer to 7-8 at least and it's extremely dishonest for them to do that and by claiming "oh we don't have any way of weighing the food". That's already a huge red flag because how can you be so certain that's it's a 5 pound challenge if you can't even weigh the food? That in itself sounds shady and I wouldn't eat at a place like this. Kind of funny because it could have been free advertising for them, but instead, it's going to keep people away since they don't want to deal with a dishonest business. Well done though Joel.

First thing Joel should do before asking them to prepare the challenge is to ask "Do you have a scale?" That way many problems would be avoided. If they don't, he just should not do that one challenge.

Man, it's always a not-so-pleasant experience when doing burrito challenges! I had a similar experience both working in "mexican" fast food restaurants, TacoBell and also ordering "Giant Burritos". When working I experience how the manager prepared the food, and the giant burrito's extra content was basically extra rice and sour cream. In TacoBell I had a similar experience where the manager ordered me to make the giant burrito with extra pico de gallo, sour cream, refried beans, rice, but not meat. Finally my sister brought me a giant burrito like a year ago, and it was full of sour cream, with basically the same amount of meat as a normal burrito.

One of those places where their challenge is modified per guest. Just like the Bearded guy's pancake challenge. I usually add every restaurant from these challenges to my to visit list. This one will not be added. Excellent work on the challenge!
