I was fortunate enough to have a handful of teachers like you through HS, and two when I was an undergrad. I think, based on conversations with others, I was either more receptive to their outreach or simply luckier than most. I obviously haven't been a student of yours, but I consider them fortunate, and wish not only that education was a higher priority in our country but also that your profession was more highly esteemed and much better compensated for it. Thanks for what you do.

Honestly, Howard the Duck and Kang are both worse than Bob, and since Kang is always going to be Series 5, that's who I pick as the worst card in Snap. He's a giant trap. He's the only Series 5 card you can obtain as an album reward (an ALL RARE (edit: my bad, 4/12 are Super Rare) album, and I think you only need 9/12 album variants to get him) because he simply does not matter lol. Howard is the 13th card in an Ongoing deck. Kang is pure cope and needs a full rework. Best Spotlight release is probably either Nico or Mockingbird. They can fit into a lot of archetypes and deliver clear snap conditions in their play lines. Edit: Oh wait I guess Kang isn't a Spotlight card, huh. Probably either Jean Grey or Martyr. I guess Martyr

I really do think it is Bob. Pair Bob with two cards that I already have, and this was the easiest skip I’ve ever had. Also, no Contant creators are making me second-guess that decision, which is nice.

I reckon Nico Minoru is the best spotlight, it gives you so many options that the opponent can't easily play around. She fits in so many decks and is a staple in a few. I think the worst has to be Mirage, as she really doesn't even make Loki, as Cable has outpaced her.

Upon release, I remember Werewolf by Night being so dominant (and fun!) that that would have my vote. Worst is probably original Martyr, 4 was just not a good enough upside for the risk and i watched a few streams where it tanked the game for the player.

I did Rogue my first playthrough, but it is not worth it because you end up leaving Astarion in camp all the time. The best spotlight was Nico. She is just so versatile. The worst spotlight was Selene, who got nerfed before she was even released.

I think the worst spotlight released has been martyr with a fundamentally flawed ability and the best spotlight is mobius, without this card there would be no counter to Loki and mockingbird

I might say that US agent was the worst one at release because the power output was almost none. And for the best one, red hulk! At least on the time I have been playing that card on release was incredible 😮

I got to say bob is the most lackluster spotlight card in my recent memory . I e got to say getting HE was pretty dope , you unlocked cool cards effects you wouldn’t otherwise ever use even though they’re cool characters like cyclops .

I've had Hydra Bob as a card through Arishem a couple of times. It is awful! In one game, the middle location was Space Throne (only one card per player) and had to work to get Bob off that location so I could drop a Blob there. Give Hydra Bob the Meek treatment and make him playable.

I didn't scan to see if someone said this yet, but you can fully respec yourself and your companions in BG3, so you can play 4 classes you want at the same time. Can't change race though.

i think the worst spotlight is original martyr, because she released when zoo was not meta and basically had no home the best spotlight has been mockingbird, as she was released at the height of thanos mania and was insane, and she has consistently found new homes where she can be played as a 1/9

The worst spotlight card: Selene. At least Hydra Bob and Martyr can be played in the Zoo decks, but no one needs Selene. The best spotlight card: Arishem. A fun and strong card that surprised many players. Arishem reminds me of a constructor in which you can put various cards. In fact, it is more difficult to choose the best card. For example, Nocturne is also one of the best cards, as it can be placed in almost any deck. By the way, I believed in her from the very beginning. However, the spotlight cache with it was so bad that I had to skip it (btw, one of the cards was Selene 🤣).

Hi Glazer! Hope you can chill a little and enjoy your well deserved summer break! To me, the worst spotlight has to be between Martyr (especially when she was 1-4) and Hydra Bob. I'll go with the former, because you have to play some shenanigan (Zero or completely fill the spots) to make her work. For the best, I could go with Mockinbird, but, to me, it's Arishem, because he's the great "limiter". You don't need to own all the cards of the game to make your deck. I am around 14-15K on the ladder, but I don't own a lot of important cards (I have to save my keys), and at this level, you play against players who owns everything. With Arishem, it's not a ploblem anymore. Sure, it's not the most satisfying deck to play, especially if you are a crafty deck builder, but for everyone else, he's a game changer.

I think Bob is the worst spotlight - don't a good reason why anyone would want it in their deck. The best spotlight that I personally remember getting was Alioth. Such a powerful and game changing card. Thanks for the great vid as usual!

At time of release there are a few standout spotlight cards that completely dominated and warped the meta: Legion, Alioth, Red Hulk. All 3 of these got nerfed in some way which means Mockingbird surges to the front to take the title because she is still the same as her release version and such a ubiquitous good card that fits in more places than you think. Worst is probably original USAgent because it was just too low power and I don't know anyone who pulled for it. Hydra BOB seems like it may give that failed release a run for its money tho.

I definitely think Jean Grey was the worst spotlight card on release. She saw virtually no play until they buffed the Guardians, then she was niche. She got buffed, and is still niche. Basically only saw play during the Hela meta, and since the queen was nerfed she's once again nowhere. The best card released in spotlights was original Blob, hands down. He completely took over the meta until he was nerfed. If you weren't playing Blob you were playing against him. The only other spotlight card I can recall warping the meta so severely is our new "friend" Arishem.

Red Hulk Echo Sebastian Shaw week with 2 Series 5 cards and these 2 cards that were incredibly useful. It was a week that stood out for its exceptional lineup Worst week? I think this week (Bob from Hydra) can really complete for that :D 3 cards that are not a meta card

I was looking at the history of all the new cards of the seasons and yes, I think Hydra Bob is the worst, especially because he's series 5 and at least Martyr was released as series 4. But I think he's going to have the same treatment as Miek, that is, you will be able to move him after snapping. For the best cards, there were many very good ones like OG Alioth, OG Mobius or OG Blob but I think currently the best cards for me are Nico Minoru and Mockingbird because they can fit in many archetypes and have not been changed since their releases.

I don't feel safe playing Arishem without Shang and Enchantress at the bare minimum anymore lol. So many decks to try out, one part of me wants to (as always) rush to Infinite so I can focus on Conquest, the other part doesn't let me play with the same deck for more than a couple of times before changing it lol. As a mostly free to play player (and occasionally a buyer of season pass), I feel like Alioth is the best spotlight release. With the scarce ressources, it gave me the most bang for my tokens/keys. I anticipated that card's release and wasn't disappointed one bit as it was so overpowered! As for the worst, being a series 5, Hydra Bob takes the crown. Can't justify to spend so many ressources on such a volatile card with not enough upbeat to justify playing it in my opinion

For me, Nico Minoru is the best spotlight. Her ability to buff the other cards makes him super versatile and suitable for playing in many different decks. Werewolf by night is my favorite because he is able to confuse the opponent and synergizes with thor and bounce decks which are fun to play. The worst is Selene because it makes me feel bad for other players if I have to win with junk and toxic decks.

In my opinion, the best was Alioth and worst was Martyr. Alioth has been nerfed so many times from 5/5 (destroy ALL enemy cards played here this turn), to 6/5, to 6/3 to 6/2 (destroy all unrevealed enemy cards here) and the final nerf being 6/8 (remove the text from all unrevealed cards here). Alioth's original ability was so good that a power nerf actually made the card's stats better and it still sees a good amount of play today. Martyr's ability however, is trying to lose you the game and it's only a 1/5.

I always think of Havoc as the worst spotlight card. He’s slightly better now because there’s more Ravonna synergy available. As for best - maybe Alioth? He’s had some ups and downs for sure, SD balance change always make it hard to know what context should be considered

I think Alioth may be the best spotlight. He was a beast to have in mind always. Worst, Martyr. Make you lose, just for a couple points of power you hope doesn't kill you, no thanks.

I think the worst spotlight card is Hydra Bob, release Martyr was worse by a fraction but they both end up in the same role and that is another high stat card for Zoo - at least Martyr had less competition. I was thinking 2099 but I can't remember if he was spotlight or not and the fact is, he's series 3 now(I believe) so that saves him over being 6k tokens like Bob. Best spotlight, at the time Alioth, it was an absolute meta-breaker. Right now, Mockingbird - probably the best card in the game.

I think best spotlight is probably Nico because it just opens up so many decks without being so overly broken that you knew it was gonna get the nerf bat. Worst, I'm gonna have to go with Hydra Bob: bad parings and complete bait with so many downsides that let the opponent play your game.

I think Hydra Bob is the worst spotlight card they released recently, but 1/4 Martyr was probably the worst spotlight card ever (it also came with Jean and Spiderman 2099). The best spotlight card is definitely Arishem, the meta warped so much after his release!

I think this week is bad but not the worst because nebula is such a good card. My pick is war machine. One, it came with Silk(decent card but not in tier one decks anymore) and silver samurai (literally series 3 now). Two, war machine’s niche couldn’t stop prof x and cannonball so he wasn’t good on release.

Just tested gwenpool + grandmaster. So brutal! Thanks! Worst card ever in spotlights: martyr. Nothing should actively lose you the game. We can do that all on our own lol. Best card: mockingbird. It's very easy to get her to at least 3-9. I'm sure it's due for a nerf.

The best spotlight mockingbird, I think she's just as good as she hulk, when Thanos was meta and she made it meta, now Mockingbird is a great splash card for any deck, I really love her in junk.

I feel like Hydra Bob is not the worst spotlight card, I would argue Hercules was the worst. My reasoning is that this is an entirely new mechanic and I feel like SD will be looking to integrate this more into the game so Bob might end up being a v important card. This is all speculation though, but Hercules in its original form was just pretty bad thats why he got changed to 3 cost. At 4 cost he could never have worked well. Best card is Red Hulk definitely, but I would say Loki at the time of release was also broken.

Thanks for the video! I think Martyr was the worst Spotlight card as released--just treat Bob as a 1/4 without the game-losing text. The best Spotlight card on release was Loki. Blob etc were bad, but didn't warp the entire game as much. Today's question: What was your favorite childhood book series?

My vote would be Martyr as the worst, I don't think she appeared in a single game for me until at least two weeks after release. As for best, I think it has to be Alioth. He was such a meta defining card with the original text, and he was everywhere on release, even in decks you didn't expect like Silky Smooth and Patriot decks.

Bob week is definitely weakest offering we've had this year. Last year maybe Martyr week was worse. The release of HE and Arishem have been the most impactful thus far.

I feel like the best Spotlight has to be Nico. The versatility is so op for one card. Worst one, I'd aay is a tie between Hydra Bob and original Hercules. Herc was decent power, but his ability was hard to utilize well, same as Bob.

I think Martyr (realease version) is the worst Spotlight card ever, no Power, can lose you the game. Hydra Bob can do some funny thing, boost Kraven, etc. and is the same power as release Martyr. And the best Spotlight card is Mobius or Alioth, instant impact on the metagame, can fit a lot of differents decks and just auto win you some matchups.

Martyr probably worst, looking back the real OP cards are usually SP! Recency Bias, but factoring in fun, arisham best caches I've spent. Purley on strength Blob, had a good brief run and maintained being a good card after initial nerf and still solid after the rework.

I think Hydra Bob is pretty bad, but I'll give worst Spotlight at release to Selene. It was narrow, and even now it's not played in Goblin decks. Best Spotlight I'll give to Mobius, which came out as broken in SERIES 4, and needed a swift nerf. Warped the metagame. Alioth is a close runner-up.

The worst spotlight card released was US agent it was buffed right after release, the best spotlight was Red Hulk so OP in his original state and strong still post nerf

I think an incredibly underratedly bad spotlight is Selene. A 1/-3 on release that added negative power to a card for both players. At least Martyr and Bob can fit in Zoo decks. I almost never see Selene played. Best spotlight is probably a tie between Mockingbird and Nico. Nico is such an amazing toolbox card, while Mockingbird is just cheap big stats.

I'm newer to the game, so I'll have to rely on everyone else's opinion for Bob or the worst overall. Bob seems pretty bad though. On the other hand, Sage is so good, and people are finding really interesting ways to play big power with her.

Havok is the worst spotlight cache card just devastating to random generate this card in play on your side and Arishem is the best spotlight card that plus 1 energy off the jump is so boosted through the whole match w/ granting card accessibility to unowned cards and unpredictability for your opponents.

Most op spotlight is high evolution, hulk was busted, wasp was a 0 cost 3 power, thing was a savage 4/9. Most useless spotlight is herc. Got a buff right after, given him the best 4 cost Stat line ever and he still got no play.

Oh! BrookLAN is a RAD spot. Edit: oh to answer the question I think it’s the worse. At least Herc has agency. You’re literally at the mercy of snapping! The Best? Hands down Alioth. I saw that card and said, “that card is going to get nerfed so hard I have to get it ASAP and play it as much as possible until then.” And it was so good for so long. Since the re-buff I haven’t brought it out much but… with that new Rian variant and that Crazy deck? I’ll give it a shot!

From all the new cards I got, Mockingbird is the one I use the most (ans seems to be one of the best in the game), so I would say she and probably Rulk were some of the best spotlights. As for the worst, Hydra Bob is up there for sure. I never used Martyr in a deck, but considering the series 5 cost, Hydra Bob is worse.

EDIT: Added QotD How do you feel about players who use bots in PG to farm and what would be a good solution to curb such behavior I’ve seen a lot of spotlight cards in play even when Selene got released since Anni was such a big hit last year. Hydra Bob is probably the worst spotlight card as of this moment since I’ve never played against him at all while Mockingbird takes the crown for being the best. She’s just too damn good that her first super rare variant was a must buy for me

For worst card I would say Selene, she doesn't fit in almost any deck outside toxic sufer or some variation with goblins. And for the best is really tough but I would say Mockingbird or Red Hulk. Both fit a lot of decks and at least for me are very fun to play and kind of fair to play against. They are consistent cards in a way that doesn't break the game but I would pick something else if i remember corrextehow was the meta at the time. For example Werewolf I remember being very hyped for getting it and then got quickly nerfed I don't play it anymore even of his recent buff

Best spotlight on release is probably a toss up between Rulk and Alioth. Both nerfed which shows the power. Worst was Martyr and even with her buff i think she is worse than Hydra Bob. Opened for Bob and it took all four keys so i really am hoping he has a chance to shine.

Bob is just.. so baaaad right now. And I think Mockingbird is the best and stylish one, I hope to find more variants of her!

The worst spotlight card? I’d probably say Selene. Other bad cards like Martyr, Hercules, or Miek have seen some play after they got buffed, but Selene still hasn’t found a place. The only deck that played Selene was Galactus, but that deck is not competitive at all, so no one plays it. I think she can be one of the candidate to change her ability from Onreveal to Activate, so you get the choose to trigger her ability after you draw Goblin. And the best spotlight card? I’d choose Cannonball! His performance has been exactly as I expected before he was released, and he is still very solid and one of the best surprise cards in this game even after the ProfX nerf! An interesting, fun, and solid card!

Hydra Bob is probably worse Spotlight. Best ever is probably Alioth or secretly Cannonball at the time even though most people underestimated him.

I would argue Martyr is probably worst than bob too but the worst is U.S. Agent that literally almost a 2 3 no text card before buff 🤣 People would argue Red hulk is probably the most over tuned card when launch, but his power will show when there are unspent energy so people will know that you got him on the hand. I think pre-nerv Blob was even more OP, especially when Thanos deck was at it's peak. Turm 4 or 5 ProX lock down one lane and turn 6 27power Blob is just 💥

Best is hard because there's so many bangers. I'd probably have to go with Mockingbird or Nico though, they've both just been so versatile for so long Worst is easier. I'd agree with Batman99, Bob and Martyr are both just not good (side eye at Silver Sable if they don't buff her before release too)

For the worst spotlight release, I believe it is Hydra Bob. He simply has nothing to offer and doesn't improve upon a single deck over a similar card like Martyr. For the best spotlight card, I believe it is original Zabu. His two cost discount was insanity and broke the meta. Hitting infinite without getting him was a tall task.

the worst week of the spotlight cache by far was the one featuring Man-Thing Silver Samurai Lady Deathstrike , none of these cards impressed me the best week 100% Blob Living Tribunal Ravonna , 3 super good & consistent cards

Between Bob and (current) Martyr, Bob definitely seems worse. Martyr at least sometimes found a home in things like C5 or zoo, but a 1/4 that gives just as much agency to your opponent over where it ends up with no other benefits isn’t worth the stats. Mockingbird is probably the best at the moment, but my hot take is Nico. For how randomized her ability is, how busted all the other cards of that month were on release, and how many uses and homes she can find for herself as just a good card; I think they somehow nailed it first try with how well balanced she feels.

I think Hydra Bob is the worst spotlight card, even with limited resources I thought about trying to get other cards but I didn't think about Hydra Bob even once. I think the best would be Arishem. he created a lot of hype and a new archetype (that was taken over by loki but still).

I think the worst spotlight they've released was probably Martyr. She's similar to Bob, but the difference is that she actively is trying to lose you the game. That makes her worse in my opinion. They've been other bad cards, but most of them have found niche uses. For the best, I'm going with original Alioth. The ability to just delete cards played on a location regardless of priority was so broken.
