muscovy is literally the worst ally, i had him in my run, so ottoman wouldnt attack me, but he was in debt for 100 years never helped in attack wars because of debt, meanwhile attacked same targets as me scammed me for great horde provinces, after 100 years or he decided to declare war on bohemia for PU over Poland, well muscovy had no army, bohemia was emperor, didnt want to peace me out and took all my provinces, killed muscovy in the meantime and kept PU over Poland, Never Ever gonna Ally Muscovy again

After trying this about 10 times while relying on Muscovy as an ally I finally gave up and did an exodus run to Friesland and joined the HRE instead and got the achievement first try. I can't think of another tag that's consistently such an awful ally to me but a super strong one to the AI more than Muscovy

Tip for Crimean war : Great Horde will most likely not give mil access to whover Crimea allies because hordes rival each other. You can fight Crimea 1:1 no matter who they are allied with

I did this achievment years ago. Don't rememeber exactly when. But I had no-CB Byz, and then went to war with Venice to get one province next to Austria on Italy to join the HRE to survive. Ended up staying most of the game as a weird Venice, I vividly remember alt-f4ing a shitload to avoid a war with Ottos.

I had an extremely lucky run where Poland/Lithuania destroyed their armies helping sweden break free conveniently after I used them to kill Crimea. Very rng depdent run I saw how much Laith suffered too. My experience isn't the norm I don't think.

I just did Gothic Invasion but I did the 'classic' East Frisia route. When you conquer Treb, the fort there gets leveled up and the province gets a defensive bonus, insanly strong! Ottos never once sieged it down Also I screamed when you gave a Georgian Core to Treb. Thats Heresy. My clean border autism can't handle that!

for this patch opm to greatness run, the least pulling-your-hair-out will be hisn kayfa, since u are fairly distanced and can ally otto early on. Easy mil hegemon and crazy cav army by 1700 too, no hassle

currently attempting this achievement myself and yeah cursed is right, will find out later today if forming russia makes it impossible, the achievement doesn't say i can't form other nations, but something about it is giving me a bad vibe when it's asking for the provinces to not be owned by theodoro. edit: finished the game, got the achievement, forming russia/another nation is fine.

Muscowy is an accurate name honestly, the city of posh people.

You should annex Trebizond BEFORE subjegation peace deal with Muscovy. Your subjects will be disloyal when you annex subject. But if you will annex Trebizond first, and vassalize Muscovy after that, they will not have negative disloyal attribute named "annexed subjects". That hurts their opinion about you and their liberty desire

Crimea has cores in Lithuania you could have exported your rebels there

This achievement was easier back then with the old no cb east frisia strat

The reason the Great Horden didnt wanna ally you in some runs is that they were not rivals of Crimea

You describe vassalizing Trebizond as "a trap" but that's incorrect. The trap is playing Theodoro. Trebizond was merely a feature of the larger trap.

Laith failed upwards with this nation, you didn't get the luck of the upwards part..

I did it once before and will do it now Florry style - no-cb East Frisia, and after gaining foothold in Low Countries declare on Crimea and give them Theodoro to move capiral into HRE. Now you can start everything like normal from ~1460 but with Emperor on your side

The first crimea war is easy enough. You focus mil and rush tech 4, crimea doesn't have feudalism so you will have a mil tech advantage 100%. As soon as you hit mil tech 4, hire units until you have as many as crimea does and dow him. Check Crimea's diplomacy. If crimea has allied anything that isn't rivalled to great horde, it's a restart. Ideally crimea allies nogai and kazan, while great horde has rivalled all of crimea kazan and uzbek. If Crimea has allied any of the turkish minors it's an instant restart since those fuckers WILL eventually ask access through great horde and ruin your day. The idea is that Great Horde denies access to any of Crimea's allies so you can go 1v1 mano a mano against Crimea with your tech 4 advantage and eventually 100% him when his allies give up. However, the Theodoro mission tree is bugged and so is the achievement so I'm not going to do a serious attempt until they fix their game.
