❤️ ABOUT THIS CHANNEL❤️
My name is Britta and this is my experience as an everyday person learning how to train mustangs. I’m what I call a “project equestrian” This is not training advice or recommendations, and many of the methods you see will be changing over the course of time as I continue to learn and grow. www.projectequestrian.com

Very stressful for them, I hope that the adopters take the time necessary to let them feel comfortable before they start to train them, i love the Mustangs, the real symbol of freedom is when you can see them on the range .

The blm doesn’t have much space for these wild horses to be in, they’re basically over populated in the wild and eating and killing all the vegetation for other wild animals and if that gets out of hand it could end up killing off other animal species in the area if that makes sense. It’s better for both the horses and other animals and some people get to take home they’re dream horse.

It’s not the wild horses that are overgrazing public land. It’s privately owned cattle & sheep. For every wild horse there are 125 cattle according to the latest PEER report. Plus cattle are way more destructive to the native plants & grasses than the horses. To protect the public land the privately held livestock needs to be removed. Make the cattle ranchers keep their herds on their own land.

@@learobinson4450 I think gelding the stallions would take care of some of the over population
@learobinson4450
@learobinson4450 7 ай бұрын
Population is controlled by the number of fertile females. Lots of fertile females usually means population increases. Reduce the number of fertile females & population declines. One stallion could breed hundreds of mares so gelding a few won’t make a noticeable difference. Take 11 stallions & 11 mares & put them on 2 islands. The first island has 10 stallions & one mare. The second island has 10 mares & one stallion. In 5 yrs, with good conditions, the first island would have 5 more horses while the second would have 50. But again the horses are not the problem. It’s the 1.5 million head of privately owned cattle on public land that destroying the ecosystems. And their doing it while being subsidized by American taxpayers since the ranchers who own the cattle pay just pennies per head per day. It costs a rancher just $1.35 per month for a cow & calf while it costs the American taxpayer over a $120 million each year to subsidize it. Ranchers either need to pay a whole lot more to cover entire cost or get their livestock off public land.

I want to have some land so i can rescue some horses. I really want some USFS Devil's Garden Modoc stock. I'm closest to the Ewing, IL holding facility, so when I'm able, I'm going to get my 'stangs. I'd love to get a blue roan, but I'll be pleased with a soft eyed calm baby. 4366 & his penmate are a gorgeous matched pair.

Thanks again for bringing this event to us, Britta. Non-horsewoman here, but mustang-curious and partial to the dark bay or black ones, also hoping to hear more about beauties like 1975 and 3792 later. As for pairs like these 16:43, it'd be a shame to separate them, but does keeping them together help or hinder their ability to bond w/others or in training? Again, knowing far more about shelter dogs than BLM adoption horses as I do, I'd probably go for the leftovers myself, but what do I know. All are beautiful, though. 😉💕🐴
