@@dieglhixSomalia is one of the most homogenous countries in the world. Same religion (Sunni Muslims), same race, same language and same culture. But unfortunately the Somali people are hardheaded and don't know how to reconcile or accept different opinions whether it's about the civil war or petty clanism/tribalism. Also, they got problems with corruption which has created religious extremists too so despite relative peace and the diaspora returning to improve the country, it lacks a strong, stable and ambitious leader to change the mindset of a whole country like Kagame in Rwanda.

It kills me that people have one perception of Africa dirty, high crime, poverty and fighting. Yes, that does exist just like in every country/ continent. However, Africa has over 1 billion people and the countries within Africa majority are clean, low poverty, and low crime. We just hear about the select few on the news that have all of those. Africa is beautiful and the people are wonderful.

@@edith1705I am from Zambia, and I am ashamed to say it it very dirty always has been.... We are hit with cholera outbreaks regularly as a result. When I was growing up, we used to have armed robbers come to our home, we later discovered it was relatives robbing us because one of my uncles saw a beautiful rug that had been stolen at the home of a close relative and as a result I don't trust so called RELATIVES. My home is rigged with the best in cctv. Have you seen south Africa's crime rate, it is one of the worst in the world.... Rwanda is very unique. Namibia, botswana and most of Arab north Africa are clean with very low crime rates. As you know Muslim Arabs have no tolerance for crime. But I do agree with you about world war 1 and 2.. These were essentially European wais vouched as world war. Africans were not there when they started. I am always arguing with europeans I know that as far as I am concerned those 2 wars are European wars.... What a foolish lot of people. Even now they want to start another war with China and Russia..

@@kasikwagoma6740 you are right our cities are so dirty, though our villages are clean. and you come from Zambia one of the most peaceful countries in the world. There is fighting in many African countries but those countries are fewer in number than the peaceful countries, just like Europe or the Americas or even Asia that is why I don't believe in generalising being done about Africa saying they are always fighting because if we are to go by that logic no continent in the world is peaceful because every continent always has a few countries fighting at all times.

Plastic waste is really a very big problem, because it does not decompose. I hope in future, some technologies like engineered enzymes comes out that can decompose it. Or me invent some kind of material that behaves as a plastic for set timeperiod (let say 1year) and then it turns into decomposable material.

It's not the "rest of the world" that's largely at fault. I mean, who in their right mind doesn't want to live in a clean city?. You can properly place most of the fault at uncaring and self-centered corrupt public officials/bureaucrats who hold political office to chase after those ill-gotten gains, get enormously wealthy while doing little to nothing to make the communities they serve better places.

Of course there is, Rwanda cannot have anyone other than Kagame as their leader, even if they want a change, and Rwanda's best face to the World still hides a very dark recent past that can't be easily forgotten, but to be honest, other African countries have to deal with similar or worse and very corrupt police and officials to boot, and dirty cities, so Rwanda has it better than its neighbours. The low corruption in Rwanda is *very* refreshing and rare in E Africa.

@@Muzakman37the thing is we are doing great with him as our leader, he has done great things to free the country and building it, he's keeping to give us what we need like schools, health care, infrastructures, roads, helping poor people with free cows and homes for those who live in slams, the economy is fast growing etc..., So we're good, democracy is people choosing who they want to lead and the majority still want him to lead.
