Karen and Grant Richards bought a 5-acre parcel of land between a creek and the shores of Lake Austin, in Texas, with the dream of building a home that would serve as a retreat from their careers in San Francisco and, someday, as a place where they could spend their retirement years enjoying the outdoors. They turned to architect Brian Comeaux of Lake Flato Architects to help them create a modern lakeside home. But quickly, the forward momentum of their dream came to an abrupt stop.

1:25 wait, NOT a enormous house? "just enough for the two of us"? I don't know what you are used to, but that is a big house, especially for two people. Don't get me wrong, its one of the most beautiful houses I'v seen, but com on, its a big.

Tiesproductions I completely agree, it's a very big house, but they are also using a wide lense to make it look bigger on camera than it actually is :) so it won't be as humongous as it looks!

Indeed it is. i wish people can be more as mindful to their environment as they are mindful to which gadget they will have to use. So that we can enjoy these little things

I am not into modern, ranch, but this house just works. You didn't have to give anything up in terms of space. You have it all. WOW!

I LOVE what you've done here. Its absolutely perfect. So many windows so you can still enjoy the beauty around you but still private. The trees around this property are absolutely stunning

OMG. I would have to win the lottery or find me a rich man. Lol. These couple must have great jobs to afford some like that. The architect really did a good job. I love the modern feel and all the red tones on the woodwork and the lap pool. Wow. Love this house. Wish I had gone to school to be an architect.

This house is amazing, everything about this house is perfect . Many time I come across video in you tube about houses but nothing compare to this house. This couple has very good architect who design this house. Maybe God has plan for me with miracle ... than I'm going to use this architect, well Only in my dream...
