What is the reason for a snell instead of polymer on the hook

The Snell adds a "trigger" action to the hook because of the straight eye.

I could never understand how you could stand so far from your fishing pole or not even having anything supporting it so the fish wouldn't pull your rod in the water

That is what the bait runner is for. Fish picks up and runs with bait. I grab pole, lock it down, run to set hook. Although I really didn’t do that here.

@fishingwithbilly I definitely did, buddy. I am surprised no fish bit when it got dark. It's all good, they will start feeding more with the weather warming up, since it's in more shallow, they gotta come out their deep winter holes. Good luck bud on your next adventure

The bottom fin is a razor blade so its a Blue. Channels are round.

I have notice you don't use rod holders very much, just lay the rods on the ground why is that??

It’s because I am using the bait runners. When they run with it I lock it down and run like some shark fishermen do (and Catfish Dave). I really did a bad hook set here. The “double action” hooks forgive you on bad hook sets.
