Malanika the famous custom Puukko maker makes a big comeback on the DBK channel today with a Leuku! and not just a leuku oh no! this one is big, mean and in CPM Cru-Wear! A knife that literally does it all! originally used in Finland as a survival knife to be able to do all tasks that fit between small knife and axe the Leuku does everything from food prepping to splitting wood! I took my Marttiini Leuku to the army with me and batoned wood and build shelters with it for 9 months and then I sharpened it. I really think you could have taken the batoning test further without too much fear of braking the leuku.

Y’all DO realize that this knife actually IS (technically) full-tang, right? It’s rat-tailed all the way to the pommel and peened into place. That’s still an AWESOMELY solid handle construction.

Knifes like this makes me proud of my sapmi heritage, this design has served for over a thousand years and runs in the blood of every scandinavian. It has passed the test of time over and over again and it's not full tang? Would you look at that. Thanks Boys!

It does put a bit of a damper on the "full tang to button" gang. Assume the reason is that people "living" that lifestyle used common sense to understand the limits and had the expertise to get the most out of the knife not to damage it in the process. eg, choose the right type of wood that you want to button that is as few knots as possible if any.
