This is why I love Ultimate. I swear EVERY character can do something competitive if somebody who is good af at the game dedicates enough time to them. Superb balance for a roster of this size.

Some of the cuts are a bit too fast for me, would enjoy seeing a bit more gameplay in between them. But this was a fun tournament and I watched more of it for the doctor mario :) Jazar ftw

@@jasonlobo2350 you can only be as good as the character can be. Obviously it’s not as easy to be good with a low tier, but if you put up results it shows the character has the potential

@@ryanrech107 tier lists are supposed to be if 2 people of equal skill level fought. theoretically, this means it relies mostly on the skill of said person, not character.

1:35 Fun fact, Doc's cape has a 1.6x damage reflect multiplier over Mario's 1.5x. That slight buff was enough to kill Rob there. lol EDIT: Also funny Hbox yell.

Been saying for years doc is underrated. Before covid hit my boy was the best samus in Minnesota. Kept his samus up. And I'd rather fight his samus than his doc. Amazing kit all around with the exception of his recovery.

I think now is the perfect time to experiment and learn characters who aren't commonly used. Ultimate has such a big roster that there's no way we've seen everything they all have to offer. We'll probably get a new smash game before we even touch the surface of what every character can do. Look at games like Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and Tekken Tag 2, both have big rosters that wasn't fully explored. Now when you go back to them? You see character combinations that you wouldn't have thought worked. Don't be afraid to bust out your for fun mains because they might be just as good as your actual mains.

I only started playing Doc once I realized he was my worst character. I started maining him as a joke but... 18 months later he's easily my best. Practice means everything

Honestly Doc only ranks low based on recovery, it’s that much of a hinderance.

True. He has one of the worst recoveries in the game and I think has the lowest jump. He doesn't jump high at all but with all those negatives comes positives with the damage output with all of his moves.

I love playing Doc, and I think he def is underrated in some regards. He feels the most like a Melee character. With great but inconsistent advantage, and bad disadvantage.

Doc is a low tier, but granted with how he was playing not many characters have a good response. Pill, pill engage into grabs, then up smash and up b out of shield are free punishes. Palutena and ken wouldnt have the best way to counter that. Sonic on the other hand... Lol
