The same strategy i use when trading breakout. Most breakouts do not test the broken trendline or level. That is why i enter immediately when the breakout happens and then draw the next possible reversal areas and wait to see the price action around those levels. When i saw for a example a reversal candlestick pattern around any of those levels i close my first trade and enter a new trade in the direction of the reversal. For me, this is the best way to trade breakout as he did

I am a new trader! Upon creating my own strategy using support/resistance, trend... I realized that I like catching movements where the momentum of the candles shift from sideways to up; buying all of that upward movement. I always wait for a retest. It's gonna look like a pullback, back to the level where it broke. Let it test that level and hold it. This will confirm this level of support. Enter the trade, set stop at the low of the pullback.

3:39 I would confirm a bullish breakout by waiting until the market forms a higher low.... You would enter a long position after the close of an engulfing candle with no lower wick.... Stop-loss below the previous support (resistance turn support) and your take profit would target the next key level.

Put an SMA 21 on your chart at the time frame one above the chart you are trading. That will tell you the direction of the bigger trend and ultimately, the direction of the breakout. Set your buy stop at 3 ticks above/below support/resistance line to avoid wicks tripping your buy stop and then going back into consolidation. Collect profits.

Am curious, what time frame do you draw the Trend Line and Key Support/Resistance Line, do you 15mins or 1 hr ? And do you make your entry in the same time frame as above or do you switch to a smaller time frame which is again do you have to wait to take profits to close the trade or you can close anytime?

If the large BO candle backs up at the end and makes a wick that is an indication the momentum has suddenly been broken. So just wait for the 2nd candle as a confirmation. Easy. Don't get suckered in to grabbing the first candle. Absolutely correct that most BO quick moves are fakeouts and traps. 2nd candle on a 2 min chart, for example, works just fine.

I usually place my trendline on 15m or 5m TF, and your key S/R zones should be drawn on the D and 4H TF, that's if you're day trading

Mostly 15m (beatiful lines) better would be in 1h. I look after big zones in higher TF and then go to the lower TF to look after breakouts. Often 100pips and more are no problem especially when US session Hits in
