Literally one of the most anticipated anime this season

It has now become my hobby to watch people react to this show and enjoy their pain. I have become jaded to pain and sadness. I relish in the misery others have while watching and have transcended depression. . .

The first episode adapted the first volume as I thought it would. When I read Ai's death scene in the manga it broke me for real. I bawled my freaking eyes out. I read the first volume twice and both time it got me. This time in the anime I didn't cry, but I think it is because another scene before in the episode made me cry, so my tears where on cooldown.

Oshi No Ko has many meanings. Oshi means your favourite or literally someone you push/support. Ko means kid(s). No is a modifier which either means possession or modifies the first noun. So one meaning is “idol’s kids”. However, it can also mean a young person who is an Oshi so “the young idol” or “my star” which can refer to many characters in the series starting with Ai.

The part where the baby pretends to be gods was so funny. Even in the manga I laughed.

Man, that last shot of Ai as she died......it's hauntingly beautiful. My soul is forever scarred, and I don't think I can ever forget that image.

I actually felt sick from that turn, she was so kind and genuine that she even recognized the man who judged her wrongly.

The reason Aqua thought his sister would bounce back was because she had a goal, which was to follow Ai's foot steps and become an idol, and you had to be alive to achieve that. On the contrary he had none, meaning he wanted to die. Until he realized he had to kill the perpetrator, then you can see how his eyes lit up.

Rie Takahashi's performance for Ai is stellar.

What's really sad about this series is most of the things mentioned are true about the idol and the entertainment industry as a whole. But one thing's for sure, Ai might not be the perfect person, but she's definitely the best mom.

As a manga reader I can't express how perfectly this was animated, didn't cry reading it but dang I cried for this

The reason kid Aqua was so creepy to them was the tonal dissonance that they felt from him without understanding it. His air and presence are completely those of a mature adult, which along with the way he speaks creates that tonal dissonance. It makes people feel that something is wrong, that something is off, without knowing what. That discomfort is what they then interpret as kid Aqua being creepy. On the other hand, unlike kid Aqua, kid Ruby feels like a kid even though she can speak complicated words and sentences. This is why she doesn't feel "creepy" to adults while her brother does.

Oshi no Ko is the best anime for the spring season of 2023. The story is so good. Love it.

A diehard supporter in other words but not necessarily creepy levels. Ko- taken from Kodomo. Or children /child. Or Konoko meaning girl There’s also a bit of word play with using Oshi . The word Hoshi meaning star kind of sound the same at least as an English speaker . Which means Star Children . The other translations being something along the lines of “the children of the girl I support”. Which refers to Aqua and Ruby or “The idol I support “- Refers to Ai Hoshino. About the title if you don't know, Oshi means "a person who you support" like celebrities or idols, if you are someone’s big fan, it means your oshi is the someone. So Oshi no Ko means "Idol's Children"

to be honest im not easy to get emotional on any show tv drama or anime i have only 2 anime make me cry and this is the 3rd one. i really love it.

Just subscribed to your channel. Loved the video. The fact that you realized that the president had another cup for Ai was awesome. One thing though, during the moment that Gorou, the doctor, told Sarina-chan that he'd consider marrying her when she reached sixteen. I felt that that was his way of giving her something to live for and wasn't something he seriously considered. Because deep inside the both of them knew that she'd never live that long. That was why Sarina called him a meanie.

Rie's potrayal of Ai Hoshino is almost perfect... overall i'll give it 9.7 maybe if i'm not a manga reader i can confidently give this 10 anime of the year.

At first, I was skeptical about this show, but everyone kept saying how good it was, so I gave it a shot. I don't think the first episode of any anime has ever made my jaw drop that many times. I am fully invested in this now, and I can't wait to see where it goes.

Oshi no Ko generally means "Children of the Star I Support". I've been a fan of this series for a very long time, and this is already a strong anime of the year contender.

For those who don't know, the aorta is the main artery in your body, which runs vertically on your torso, and connects to thigh, and carotid arteries and arms. So basically the core pipes of your blood pumping station. You can die in the matter of seconds if it is compromised.

The given title translation means: "My Favorite Idol" But also has a double translation that is actually more on point: "Their Idol's children" The title meaning changes with the context and both makes sense despite the different in meanings.

I'm not paticularly good at Japanese but I would guess it means my idols kid. Oshi= your favorite idol no = possessive like an apostrophe ko = child

The thing why he said it's fine after Sarina turned 16 is because you can get officially married at the age of 16 in Japan. Not because of other weird reason.

Actually the moment in the end when Aqua asks the producer to "raise" him is often misunderstood, because of a wrong translation/interpretation from the Japanese to the English subtitles; he was instead more meaning "Would you consider of being my mentor ? " (for professional)

This fucking broke me, I went in completely blind and did not expect the twist at the end. This is genuinely a perfect manga adaptation and is genuinely an anime of the year contender already.

I've never felt as much in a "first episode" as i did with this show. To your eternity has nothing on this show. Compared to some movies I would still put it behind things like Maquia or I Want to Eat your Pancreas but this still went so hard. Those are after all completed stories. All I heard about this was gigguk endorsing the manga. But all I really remember was that he said he could relate to how it feels being an entertainer and dealing with what people say about you online. I didn't expect it to be a reincarnation story or a revenge story. Really hope it keeps this up.

This was indeed all volume 1. Animation added to the story. We do have a new idol character in Ruby among other characters. First 4 episodes since it’s 1 hour 22 minutes. I think this episode at least tells you what it is about. The director previously worked on Selection Project. The father seems to have blonde hair based on their father but it’s hard to say. When I watched kaguya sama season 3, I was spoiled by the manga image of Ai and her final moments. Lol KZfaq man. Hype without spoiling is great

As a manga reader, that scene hit hard when I first read it. While watching the anime, I knew that scene was coming and I cried as well.

I feel that this work is a microcosm of Japanese society (I am Japanese). For example, regarding Japanese idol culture, a great supply-demand relationship has been established between the producers and management who aim for short-term profits while placing importance on freshness, and the fans who seek healing and salvation from their own difficulties in life in the form of boys and girls who are still developing in terms of age. Also, as to why the murderer who stabbed Ai shed tears, it is because the existence of idols is the hope for life for fans in the above-mentioned condition. As a long-time supporter of idols, I understand more than a little the feeling of sadness turning into hatred in the killer who stabbed Ai.
