When i built my first pc my parents did not let me get a single used part so I ended up getting a 1050 ti for $300. And although this was during the peek of the gpu shortage This just goes to show how underrated the 6500xt is.

great looking PC!!! really like my 6500xt ---paired with a Ryzen 3 5300g it works great...honestly if I could have purchased a brand new GTX 1650 for $260 I would have...but there aren't any, and this GPU edges it out in performance anyway...and did I mention...I have it in my hands

It's an amazing build. You can further overclock the gpu as temps are stable to get 10 to 15 more fps.

Cooler Master released the TD300 Mesh which is almost the same as the TD500 Mesh except with a few tweaks and mATX. It's more than 70$ though, but I think it's a good candidate if it's available.

Do most people only build new? I know you touched on it with if someone wanted to buy something with a warranty. I was able to hit a price target of $800 with higher end parts but by going mixed new and used. Cool looking build btw

I agree with you on this card it's for like low tier budget pc like a i3 or low end i5 for like everyday use most youtubers completely missed the point of this card. It is not ment for video editing or streaming it is for regular folks not everything is meant to run ultra settings.

For any new pc builders a RRP/MSRP GPU is a difficult find and the fact you can get one of these is probably also contributing to the recent GPU price drop on lower end gpus and the 6600 & 6600XT are pushing down the prices on lower end RTX models 👍🥰

I think it’s worth noting that for $20 more getting the 11400 non-F gets you a hardware encoder on the Intel iGPU and is totally worth it if you even think you might want to record gameplay, stream, or edit video.

Well I mean it depends. $20 is not much so if you have a use case for it, go ahead. But most people that are recording gameplay or streaming are using the encoder on their GPU. But yes for video editing, might be worth it.

Update! I built my pc! It’s similar to this but I did get a rgb cooler master cooler and changed up the psu and the ram (wanted more rgb and like Corsair to much) the case came in bent and I was mad but I was able to fix it I bent it back out and it make have an extra screw now but it’s together and running!!!!!

Well had to start somewhere when you ain't built a computer In 22 years so i got a Dell 9020 almost done I do have a question on your card , I thought I read it needed to be a 8gig?. I have a Gigabyte 5700(?) and 4gb and have been pulling my hair out.. and at my age I don't want to loose anymore or anymore gray.. Bob. .

At the end of the day if ppl don't want the 6500xt for its many flaws they can always move up to the 6600xt and have a $950 build, but you're not going to do better for $738.

I'm trying to see if I can get a 6500xt to add to my pc.. i currently have a 1050 2gb that isnt bad at all but i want an upgrade My cpu is a r3 1200 I definitely need to upgrade that as well I'm looking at an r3 3100 or a r5 2600. The reason I'm not looking for an Intel is bc I have a b450 gaming which is an amd board but the problem is I don't know if it's pci3 or 4 so I don't know if the 6500xt is going to kill my computer or not lol I would switch the motherboard to get an Intel board but I want to save as much money as possible and just get a better cpu and gpu that hopefully work good

I personally wouldn't upgrade form a 1050 to a 6500XT. It's indeed an upgrade, but not a "worthy" one IMO. Save more money for something like the 6600XT or something like that to make the upgrade actually worth it. I don't like tiny incremental upgrades like that.

@@ZachsTechTurf I understand that yeah but the thing for me is I try to play more graphics intensive games like fh5 on 1080p high and warzone on 1080p low. In fh5 it's definitely playable with the 1050 and I don't get any random fps drops but warzone I have to play on 720p with all low settings and I still only get around 40fps with some bad fps drops. I only considered the 6500xt because I found one on Amazon for $260 which is the lowest price on a good card that ive seen so far. I just looked up a few cards like the 1660 super and the 6600xt and even the normal 6600 and the prices are insanely high. The lowest price I found for a 1660 super is $460, the lowest I've seen a 6600xt for is $600, and the lowest I've seen a 6600 is $500. I'm also trying to upgrade my cpu which are also kinda expensive and I'm not trying to spend a fortune or else I'd as might as well buy a laptop lol

I bought a gtx 980ti hybrid for 150$ a few months ago, and I paired it with my ryzen 5 5600x and honestly I have no complaints, I can pretty much run any game at max settings 1080p. It was cheap at the time, I’m actually buying a gtx 970 for my best friend because they are pretty cheap as well I’m my area and it’s pretty much all the performance he would need.

Thank you I have been screaming about the 6500xt and finally someone else is saying it. I built a 1080p game machine that tears it up. Matched mine with a 5600g and it more than doubled in performance. 120fps on Apex easy.

Not sure i agree with you on the gpu, I completely understand people want basically anything in their hands, especially if they need it to be new but if you're looking at the price to performance of even budget cpu's like the ryzen 5 5300g, the performance benefit for £250 which can be a third of your entire build price, it just seems not worth it, especially if gpu prices come down in the following months and you can get a 1660 super or ti for the same price.

I hace a 11400f + asus prime z590-v, 3200mhz kingston fury beat cl16, rx 6700xt sapphire nitro +, ssd xpg s20g and i cant get to pass fortnite 1080/1440 low high ultra from 60 to 70 fps no matter what

The reality is that a 6500 XT for $200 is going to look like a miserable deal in about a month - 6600s are going to hit MSRP & the brutal amputations on the 6500 XT will be more than enough to sway people towards spending $100 more. Not to mention the 3050 will probably hit MSRP a little after that, making the decision even easier. I think Zach tried a little to hard to sell us on something that AMD seriously fucked up as a physical product.

Uh, as the 6600/3050 go down in price the 6500XT will drop also, you know that right lol? its not gonna stay at the current ~$220. It's probably going to end up below MSRP pretty soon and by the time the 3050 hits 250 the 6500XT will be about half that.

@@BonusCrook That'll very likely be correct, but the 6500 XT is a bad product regardless of its price. The amount of things AMD cut away from the poor thing puts it in a different spectrum than just price/performance.

@@ForlebTF It uses a small laptop die (navi24) that never had those features in the first place so they werent removed after the fact, It's still not good but for many people getting access to it for gaming is still appreciated because it's cheaper than used 5500 XTs on ebay while still getting the useful features like radeon super resolution for free performance.

@@BonusCrook I'm aware of where it came from... that doesn't change its inappropriate use as a desktop card, as well as its shameful marketing as a generational step up when it actually performs worse than a 5500 XT in several non-exotic scenarios. The 5500 XT is technically better, so it makes sense that it's valued more. And get this: Even after the release of the 3090 Ti, the 6500 XT still manages to be the least efficient current gen graphics card - yet AMD also has the three most efficient current gen graphics cards. The only effort put into the 6500 XT was meeting a price point they really shouldn't have aimed for if this is what they were willing to release.

I would still recommend a console over a pc with a 6500xt. But if your heart is set on a PC and you're on a tight budget, you don't really have a choice other than integrated graphics which i wouldn't recommend either. pc building hobby is not going to recover anytime soon

I do understand where the build is coming from but I still see it as "I pay too much because I'm forced to" and while I understand same applies to insulin in 'murica I just can't justify it with tech. If you want brand new, yes. If you want value for your money, heck no. Buy a cheap used 1660 or just wait a year and save that cash for a waaaaaaay better pc.
