Lol at these comments… Yes I know haha I was probably complaining more than necessary. I fished without a finder for many years and did fine. But it would have certainly helped in locating the grass edge in that dirty water on that particular day.

Man, Your positivity keeps me driving haha. I had a rough day fishing today in a new creek spot. covered in ants and spiders but still caught a few blue gill. walked a few miles. Even those days when you 'do a lot of fishing and not a lot of catching' it's still worth it. Stoked to be throwing Mule Jigs and slamming fish. Love all the Ultra Light fishing action.

I felt like we were coming in for a kiss 💋 😘 🤣🤣. Sometimes if I don't have a fish finder I use the Force to find the fish. I have a bunch of the Sienna 500s and they've been great reels for a great price. I think the 1000 series might be better for most rods though as the 500 series models are a little light and throw the rod balance towards the tip. I've almost always found that Shimano and Daiwa budget reels are pretty good quality. Glad you could get out for a bit Ethan and you made the best of it.
@FishAnything
@FishAnything 2 жыл бұрын
Heck yeah Fitzy haha yeah I got up close and personal. And I have been thinking about picking up a size 500 to try but I tend to like the balance of the 1000 (to your point) and the larger spool size which allows me to cast just a little smoother. Maybe I will do some experimenting though.

Fantastic video. And a truly great gill at the 3:31 mark. I wasn't too crazy about the nanofill, either. Went with the 2.5 lb Blue Moon Aijing Master Flourocarbon the other day. They have as low as 1.5 lb. But the 2.5 lb is a little easier for me to see, tying on the jigheads. Pricey stuff, but I have to say, wow. The sensitivity and manageability is just a pleasure.

Lol Dirk let me clarify... When I say fish finder, I am referring to a depth finder. Basically, I am not looking for the fish, but rather looking for key depth changes & grass edges. This helps me locate the areas where fish are likely to live. Without that, in a muddy body of water such as this one, you can spend hours fishing unproductive water. But you are right... Technology has made us lazy haha
