It's highly unlikely they would have exploded. You're viewing this through a 21st century lens/mindset. In the 1700s they would have reacted exactly how it was portrayed in the video: dead silence. It was a period of strict rules and protocol. They'd not know how to process it nor want to break ranks. Scandalous!

Uh...do you have any idea what makes a piece of music classical or not? Yeah, Beethoven was a musical revolutionary. So were the Beatles. That doesn't make the Beatles classical. Simply being a musical rebel is not what makes Beethoven classical.

Beethoven & Mozart alike were considered "musical rebels" during the Classical Music Period (1730-1820). Mozart was even once criticized for his music having "Too many notes".

As someone who used to be in Orchestra, 'shredding' only happens with truly intense performances. But when you see the shredded hair it's a strangely good feeling to know you're playing so intensely.

BTW, the broken bow "'strings" are horsehair from the tails of the horses. What they're doing is incredibly rough on their bows, no surprise there... They probably have to get them redone an awful lot.

At least they don't use the really old fashioned type of bow. They're made of cat guts. Imagine how many cats would be killed.

@@SpookiCooki the strings were made from cat gut. The bows have always been made from horsehair a far as I know. Maybe there's some synthetic man made fiber that can work, but I don't know that for sure one way or another.

Angus Young does that move at concerts. Lays down and spins himself in a circle whilst never missing a not on his guitar. I was impressed to see the cello player imitate the move. Very well done.

I adore female fronted bands, in fact I actually prefer them. I've been picking up on new femalefronted bands from other commenters leaving tips, or replying to me with tips. So, I'll leave a couple with you, Eva Under Fire, Skarlett Riot, and Ledger (Skillet's drummer's solo project) I DID get a reply from one of the people I left a tip with, and he replied with positive feedback on Eva Under Fire. I've been a fan of 2Cellos ever since they were only doing street performances around Europe. They are unbelievably talented, and have taught several generations of music lovers that classical music is fantastic!

I love 2cellos. Amazing. I love the set up I love that the audience and the two performers were dressed in century old clothing I loved how they showed the people walking in to see them I love that they suck this up to be this really cool classical piece and then rocked it out it was amazing.

2Cellos is amazing! There is a reason why the were the opening act for Elton Johns World Tour (in I think 2012) To quote him from an interview he did "I can't remember seeing anything as exiting, since I saw Jimi Hendrix in the Marquee club way back in the 60s" [quoted from "Elton John about 2Cellos]

Granny in UK here and I have loved these guys for years. Loved seeing your reaction to this! Check them out playing in the Roman amphitheatre in Croatia. It is a wonderful country and one day I hope to see them play at that venue.
