Like people have said, the Walkie-Talkie will be waterproof cuz it’s his job to make sure everyone in the pool is safe. If he needed to jump in the pool and save someone, they might have drowned by the time he noticed AND taken his Walkie-Talkie off

I worked as a Lifeguard and our walkie talkies weren't waterproof, if someone's drowning you just let the walkie die, they're dirt cheap and lifeguards aren't jumping in very often
