Playing on a mahjong parlor a decade ago you would be also smoking and then knifes would coe into the table if you were taking too much time on your turn. Similar to arcade experience. Also getting your muney and running fast to the subway to not get vanished by the mob was the common sense with win streaks

lemme give this a go: Think of it like poker, but the cards are instead tiles, and each hand is made up of 13 tiles instead of 5 cards. Each turn a player picks up a tile and discards one. The discarded tile in some cirumstances can be picked up by another player. Aim of the game is to have a winning hand, which includes either the tile that was just discarded or picked up (so 14 tiles), and usually consists of three-of-a-kinds (same value/suit) and straght flushes.
