This Combo is something special! Especially if you’re wanting your hair to feel well moisturized, have a flexible hold, good definition and great shine! 🤩
Fyi: Both products have glycerin listed as the second ingredient. So if you don’t like glycerin this may not be the combo for you.
This us NOT a tutorial. I am simply showing how I care for my natural curly hair and the products I use in my hair care routine.

Definitely normal for me to have some shed hairs while styling. Actually, if I have a style that requires a lot of sections (braids/twists, etc) I'll just wait to detangle until I'm working on one little section at a time, as that seems to reduce the overall amount of hair coming out. Sometimes we just gotta accept that our hair is gonna do what it's gonna do - looks beautiful no matter what! 😁 The part discussion is so funny to me because us curly haired folks are always switching our parts, and I'm discovering that there are people out here who've had the same part since birth, and switching it to the other side or to the middle is literally a major life change for them😅

Hi, so glad to watch this; I have both of these gels!! I love the Big Poppa and I tried the Alikay and hated the way my hair felt, but I am going to try it out like this(a little bit on top)and see how it turns out before I throw it away lol… again learning so much and seeing how to really smooth I know will make a difference 😊

Hi Shelly! Thanks to you, I purchased the Big Poppa Gel and this will now be my staple product to use. I LOVED how moisturizing my wash n go turned out...( and I am very hesitant to wear those styles because of past experiences of dryness and crunch) My daughter even complimented my hair..lol, she is a critical person so that meant a lot coming from her..lol

Lovely set! That turned out to be an awesome combo. I've never used either of those gels. It's so funny that I have a list of gels that I might like to try, but when I run low and need to make a purchase I end up buying from the few that I always use. I did try a new combo on my current WnG but only because I received a new gel as a gift.

I used this combo earlier in the evening. I am so grateful that I found this video. My hair is moist, the hold is excellent, and it came out adorable. I was using a butter and gel duo from Crème Of Nature, but I think I like this better. Thanks so much for posting.

I’d love to see you use my method to style your hair! 😍 I’m also curious how your beautiful silver hair would respond to adding a little of the Big Poppa underneath the Alikay??? 🧐 I know you love crunch but the Alikay is a crunchy crunch! So adding a very small amount of the Big Poppa seems to offset it and provide a nice hold but allows for volume on day 1. Just a thought because you know we NOSEY! 🤣🤣🤣

Haha 😆 I feel you because it’s bomb Sis! Lol 🤣 So if I were you I’d try the Lemongrass gel first by itself and see how your hair turns out. It has a very strong hold to where you wouldn’t even know there’s glycerin in it. Depending how your hair feels (like if it’s too dry feeling) then maybe consider adding in a little Big Poppa as the base. Just a suggestion on how you could play around with it because it’s a lovely combo! 😍

I'm a little further north, but it's still super humid here. I love big hair so I deliberately use glycerin infused products with my wash and gos or other styles to keep the moisture lasting! I saw someone say once that if you set your hair outside when it's humid, your hair will dry with the correct amount of water in it and not seek out extra moisture from the environment, so I try to always airdry outside during summer, and my wash and gos do last fairly well.

The Alikay Lemongrass liquid Leave In is great. I cut it with George's Aloe Vera juice so I don't have to refrigerate it. If you want other liquid leave in suggestions that can also be cut with George's Aloe Vera juice, may I recommend Naturelle Grow Break No More and Moisture Boost? Naturelle Grow has sales often. If you like them, they also come in gallon sizes too. I remember Narada saying he liked liquid leave-ins because you generally don't have to deal with pilling or flaking when pairing it with varying gels and foams.

Super cute! I have both gels...not the leave in, though...what are your thoughts about the moisture without the leave in? I've used big poppa alone and my hair feels good...I may test it out, no leave in, lol. Thanks for the combo suggestion. Again, your hair looks great. New subbie, I subscribed a few videos ago,

You can definitely get away with only using the two gels together without leave-in. The Big Poppa makes the hair feel very moisturized provided you don’t go crazy heavy with the Lemongrass gel. 💖 Aww and thank you for subscribing to my channel! I appreciate your love & support Sis! 🥰💯😘

Yeah that’s exactly why I mentioned it because I know in the humidity it can be awful. However the Alikay doesn’t seem like it has glycerin in it at all. Which is soooooo strange to me! 😅

Awesome question Sis! 💯 So the Alikay doesn’t seem like it has glycerin in it at all. Which is soooooo strange to me! 😅 Instead it feels very drying to the hair bit offers tremendous hold! On the other hand, you can definitely feel the glycerin in Big Poppa! It leaves the hair feeling extremely moisturized. But it doesn’t offer a great level of hold. Therefore, I got to thinking (which is sometimes a scary notion 👀🤣) what if I combined them to get the gray if both worlds??? Then boom, I did and it’s AMAZING in my hair! Lmk if that answers your question and thank you for asking it! 🥰
