Laura I appreciate so much you and your husband sharing your beautiful country home and family. I really look forward to your and Lisa’s videos and updates every week. Sometimes you are too hard on yourself as far as your decorating skills. Your home always looks beautiful and well put together, and you are a wonderful mother. Much love to you all from Southern Nevada. ❤❤

I keep my onions in the fridge and they don’t make my eyes water! I love it. I will sometimes put my onions in the fridge, get them cold and cut up a ton in a couple of freezer bags. Freeze them for use later. I just pull the bag out, let it drop on the floor a few times to break up the pieces and pour out what I need for my recipe while I’m cooking. Then our back the leftover in the freezer again.

I really enjoyed watching you two cleaning/cooking/getting ready for your party. Also love the fact of a real fire pit instead of those gas things. That's the fire that makes the best roasted marshmallows and hot dogs. Thank you, Laura, for making such uplifting videos for us all.

Yes, the prices at the grocery stores are absolutely ridiculous! It seems like every time we go they have raised the prices again! 😞😞 Hope you, your hubby and family had a great fall party! We are having one at our church and I can’t wait, it’s always so much fun, and we having a big hayride, and that’s always so fun, if it’s not real cold! God bless!

The insane food prices have been around for a few years here. Also the lack of food or rotten food. Rice and wheat flour is nonexistent. We don’t order food offline. Local farmers sell non organic vegetables 2X the store price. We eat simple and cook from scratch.

NEVER PAY FULL PRICE! Only shop sales and shop MULITPLE stores! Check stores for the same product at different stores! Girl, you should have been shopping for it since August, getting what you need for the party only when they are on sale! Those hotdogs were 99¢ a few weeks ago, I'm sure you paid about $3. Plan ahead, shop your pantry first, and only buy groceries to stock the pantry, not shopping weekly for meals. Make meals from your sale items. I've been doing this and videos on it for about a month now and have saved a few hundred dollars already!

What a great menu for the party! Your roaster brought back memories of my Aunt bringing turkeys for holiday meals growing up! :) Years ago, I heard this tip from Martha Stewart about cutting your onion with a candle burning next to you. You cannot talk however during that time because it lets the onion fumes get in. Seemed to reduce my watering. Have a great weekend!!

I’m thinking you’re just noticing it now because you’re so blessed to be able to garden, have a sister that provides milk and cream and another sister that provides beef, pork and chicken. I think you also grow your own eggs. I think your dad often provides moose and venison. 🙂. As someone who lives in a condo in a metropolitan suburb I’ve noticed the prices rising quite a while ago. But it was a gradual rise for the most part. (And a lot was blamed on “supply chain issues” and the bird flu) 🙂

I am certain all of us have noticed the insane grocery prices for months and months. Sadly, it's only going to get worse. The shortages of wheat and rice will cause such a disruption to our food supply. I am very, very concerned. We have a "home grocery store" so we are fully stocked with just about everything we could possibly need for a minimum of 12 months. Lots of home canned meats, stew, chili, beans, tomatoes, jams, etc. and lots of store bought canned foods. We buy in bulk from Azure Standard for so much of our groceries. We have freezers filled and hunting season has begun. Everyone had better stock as much as possible as fast as they can.

The world is not in a good place. God told us about these times and told us to fill our warehouse. But remember that there are not nice or desperate people out there and would gladly take your things. My parents spend years in a concentration camp and had very hard times after World War II. They taught their seven children to be frugal and prepared. God Bless.

@@miephoex In order to get to our things someone will have to figure out a way to bypass the outside, real time, security cameras all around our home, four dogs that hear well and alert even better, a home security system (and it is not a DIY, wifi system!), and then deal with the security system I will be holding in my hand. Trust me, we are prepared.

Sounds so nice to have a fall party. You worked hard for it, and I imagine it will be delicious. It would be nice to have some drinks for the younger company ….not just water, as it’s a special ocassion. If the adults have caffeinated soda, I believe you should have something for the children. Maybe cider, hot chocolate, or cold chocolate milk. Hope you have a wonderful time. Yes, food is ridiculously priced. Everything is! Scary!!💵💵💵

I think the reason for no sugary drinks for the kids might be because there might already be enough sweets to eat. That’s a struggle at our get-togethers. Candy and baked goods are in abundance so juice or anything else is just overkill for them. The older ones do end up dipping into the adult pile of sugary drinks so I guess it doesn’t make much a of difference. We just try to make water the first and preferred option.
