Morocco has 3/4 of the world’s known reserves of rock phosphate, our main source of phosphorus, so Morocco may be key to our long-term ability to grow food. Note: At the time of publishing, the United Nations does not recognize Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara, instead identifying it as a “non-self-governing territory”
Thanks also to our Patreon patrons / minuteearth and our KZfaq members.

the vast majority of cultivated fields exist only to feed the bred animals, there would be nowhere near the urgency to look for additional sources of potassium, if people's eating behaviors were in line with the maintenance of this planet, instead of treating it as a "disposable". the bitter irony of using the image of a cow to represent a (tiny) source of phosphorus that can be used ... but without mentioning that only the fact of having raised it has dispersed a quantity of resources (including phosphorus) well above those that derive from it is absurd!

@@msergio0293 My research was on a crystallization process. If you add magnesium and increase the pH of wastewater then something called struvite will precipitate (MgNH4PO4), it can be used directly as a fertilizer. I'm afraid I'm not up to speed on any new trends, I moved to a different research group where I don't get to spend as much time on P recovery. The keys are P recovery/recycling and more efficient use of current supplies to minimize the need for mining and processing phosphate rock. The video touches on phosphate rock reserves being underwater and there are companies that want to dredge up the ocean floor to access it (terrible idea in my opinion), not to mention the geopolitical issues that will emerge in the Western Sahara.

revan nihilus I have seen some racist comments from us, such as Americans saying that we must strike Morocco with the atomic bomb or nuclear weapons because we are nuclear. We believed that we are the only country that the world hates even though we reconcile between European and Arab countries and we only want peace. What is important is that we Moroccans have learned something from our smallness, that is not to be afraid of Someone, we live in dignity and we die in dignity. Did the Spaniards refuse when they occupied the Sahara of Morocco and Morocco? Did we return the Sahara without weapons? We took it back with the Book of God. Thank you. Morocco has oil, natural gas, gold, and silver. The country also has access to the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean sea and export fish goods to Europe and Asia. Yet they rank low on the human development indicator, have poor economic growth and massive illiteracy rate as well as extremely poor health care and human rights violations. Morocco is also ruled by a King who is ranked the 6th wealthiest royalty in the world with a legal net worth of 5.7 billion dollars. Connect the dots.

The Sahara has not been occupied by Morocco in 1975, we took it back from Spain. Before France and Spain occupied and "divided" Morocco between them in 1912, the Sahara was under the rule of the Moroccan empire. And even before that, the Sahara used to belong to older Moroccan Dynasties, since the 12th century. The Sahara is ours, and always will be, we didn't occupy it, we took it back in the most peaceful way there is; the Green March under the reign of the great king Hassan 2.

I have seen some racist comments from us, such as Americans saying that we must strike _ Morocco with the atomic bomb or nuclear weapons. because we are nuclear. Thank you. They hit us with bombs in the first place. The whole world hates us

maybe it's a bit late now, but i'll try to explain it the US is seen as a force of international political change whenever it helps US citizens and large businesses, with little regard for locals. most often the reasons given for entering conflicts are fighting against left-wing oppressive regimes (a bit dated), national security of the US, liberating said territory and introducing them to right-wing liberalism these interventions in South America and the middle east commonly lead to right wing oppressive regimes, or political turmoil which lower the prices for the US for precious resources like crops, minerals, oil
