AND the time machine mod (the one that makes the beggar donations go faster). AND the unintrustive pause menu mod.
This is one of my most satisfying non tainted eden runs to date. Ok ignore everything past this point, while I'm late for this upload... I also wanna shove as many funny item names as possible in here; plus nobody will read it anyways: Early bird's eye and brimstone have such HUGE c section tech x POTENTIAL (even though it's not as good as ghost pepper), although a bit of a change of plans involving sacred heart and a missed opportunity of rerolling items with the d6 made this run a bit more dangerous than it should have been, not to mention holy light's synergy with perfection's 10+ luck which just ended up melting everything I came in contact with. With so many soy milk angel rooms and the combination of godhead and proptosis, including the ipecac (dunce cap) I was basically guaranteed to find sacred heart, crown of light, and many other OP items that made this run a free monstro's lung win featuring edmund mcmillen (who also created super meat boy)... And I'm totally not mentioning these items in the description just for keywords or anything, why would I ever do that? This paragraph is also ABSOLUTELY not copied from another one of my videos but with certain words changed to make sense in the context of this video, that would just be silly. Wow, did you really read all of that? I'm proud of you.
Ok since nobody's gonna read this... I can say that I'm 100% changing my YT username to just "Laven" for 2 reasons:
1. I hate how people mispronounce lavencas, it's supposed to be just like "Lavender Castle" if you remove the extra letters, but a ton of people put emphasis on the VEN which sounds extremely weird to me and annoys me to no end
2. Some of you also seem to think the L is an i but WHYYYYYYY
I was thinking of rebranding to a different name entirely, but that's too much effort and a lot of people would be confused sooooo... yeah. Also fun fact the name lavencas was kind of a placeholder until I thought of something that sounded better, but my channel exploded way faster than I would've ever imagined and by that point it was too late...

XL "curse" is actually my favorite cause its literally 2 floors in 1 and im very impatient. yeah, one less angel/devil deal but same amount of items and its fun to explore big floors

Nah, XL curse is one of the worst, you lose one shop 2 secrets rooms and the posibility of devil/angel/curse/arcade/etc its only better than curse of the bilnd, but worster than unkown or darkness

@@fricc3824 I'm generally happy to see it floor one or especially on the first alt path for the two bonus mirror boss items. Unless I'm playing tainted keeper, then losing a shop at any point is not worth it.

I bought repentance finally like 3 weeks ago and even though I did have most achievemnts bedorehand, my actual knowledge about the game was and still is quite basic, since I imported a safe file with all achievemnts from a friend of mine who was always commited to every game 100% no matter the difficulty. So some characters I technically still have not beaten a run with myself, but have unlocked all their pre-repentance unlockables. And i often find myself on the wiki at the moment, reading items and especially learning about alternate paths. When i used to do runs. I just did them on normal difficulty, always isaac, always going polaroid and always going chest. And while it was chill at times it wasnt very challenging. Right now Im in the midst of trying to get all unlockables from the two new characters and mother and the beast. And i have struggled a ton in dross / downpour and later on ghaenna. Often times i just find myself with very bad damage, no special tear upgrade, bad survivability and not much going for me. And sure i could probably dodge everything and make those runs still work. But im trying to get good runs when i play. I always take my time on EVERY floor to do everything i can to possibly get stronger. And since i guess google stalked my steam purchase and playpattern it recommended me your videos which i have been watching the last 2 weeks. And I have a couple of questions. 1- do you restart runs early? If my whole fiest floor is only bad pills, no soulheart drops, and an active item i wont use i find myself restarting he run a lot. Sometimes i still check devil deal in basement 2 but thats only when i dont run into spikes or get Hit randomly. 2- is there any tips you can give to get those crazy synergies on the daily? Is it just spamming runs and getting lucky once, or do you min max your gameplay in a certain way? 3- would you recommend using health as a resource? I treat my health, especially red hearts as a resource, taking every bit of damage from a blood donation machine or devil beggar i can, often leaving with a good item or money but effectively only a couple soul hearts left over. Is this something i should only start doing once my gameplay improves? But in successful runs for me, its often exactly that, that made the difference so i wouldnt know. Although i died so many times already from being too greedy tbh. Well. That was quite a lengthy comment im sorry. I like your Videos, keep it up. Also if this is just too much to answer to, then dont bother with it. I will find out myself eventually i think. But learning from others is always helpful to me

Id say that you can go check out the platinumgod wiki to find out wich item youd like to unlock :ex *c-section, deaths touch, sacred ord , birthright and so on* to then precisly do this unlocks so your game gets a bit more custom since you go for thing you like or need/want to have facility in your next runs .Personnaly I tend to restart my runs to my liking if passed 3rd floor I didnt have an angel deal or maybe anything that pushes me to go further I just restart and I usually try to rush to the boss room since when skipping a treasure room leads to more planetarium chances and shop pool isnt really that strong . The more you play the quicker youll get to take descision on weither youre having time to full clear a floor or better keep going to not miss boss rush if you want that free item or hush if youre in need of going void. For the health is a ressource part id say youre having it right sure being half soul heart sucks but who dosent want that blood bag right . GG for getting repentance youre in for a hell of a ride ;)

to answer 1/2, laven definitely looks for a strong run to upload to youtube. idk how much they play, but these videos arent really an accurate portrayal of the typical isaac run. go ahead and reset the first 1/2 floors until you get a decent item and it’ll be much more enjoyable to answer 3, it depends but yeah health is a resource. but obviously you need to manage it and risk it properly, cause sometimes theres no point in spending all your health or its too risky

If you're playing a character with red health and there are alot of spare hearts on the floor, your main goal would be to find a blood donation machine, demon beggar or a sacrifice room. Also always try to find the secret rooms if you can. check curse rooms, they can have guppy items and health. And id say just try and start to get comfortable doing the first few floors semi flawlessly. Getting an angel deal or devil deal should be your main priority. But i think devil deals suck now imo. If you're going for harder bosses, you need to milk every single floor for everything that it has. Lastly just keep playing. I honestly didn't start feeling very comfortable until ~150 hours. Even then we all have dumb deaths with good items and sometimes it's just inevitable.

Probably the most important thing to remember is that success is based on your luck, and leveraging everything you have. While it's insanely unlucky to get a run that goes all the way and stays bad the entire time, especially if you go to the chest, ultimately success is isaac is very RNG dependant. That isn't to say you can't win, but learning to exploit all your resources and maximise the benefits of what you find is extremely important.
